Comment:
STV 205 is a great course if you're interested in the societal implications of technology. Professor Morley gives quite a bit of reading to do and only some of them really help in understanding the course material, but they are still interesting and not a pain. He's very knowledgeable and approachable.

STV 100 is an absolute joke of a class. Read the course notes in the first week and you should be fine. I never studied and I completely made up some phenomenolcrapological bs for my middle of term paper and got a 89. An 89 without doing assigned readings? This class is so subjective so really put on a facade in the discussions!!

What a disappointment. Lots of potential, but turned out to be an absolute abortion. The reason I stuck with this is because I need it to graduate. You can tell that the man is a philosopher - he takes easy to understand concepts and messes them up beyond comprehension. Avoid at all costs.

Class is a peice of garbage. Professor uses course as a vehicle to force people to read his crappy writing. Attempts to classify technology in "niches" using the "phenomenological approach" are a complete BS & waste of time. I hate ECE for making the List A electives so lousy. WORST CLASS EVER!!

Probably one of the most useless courses I have ever taken. Everything is very trivial, he takes simple things and overanalyzes them alot. I don't think I learned anything I didn't know and I had to miss the last Leafs game and load up on coffee just to stay through the first lecture.

What is wrong with this course?! How can this even be a course! The class consists of the ramblings of a psychotic engineer, preaching on falsity. 1950's clips in class? STV100 has NO application to the real world WHAT SO EVER, STAY AWAY. Only artsies would be stupid enough to take this course.

Wow. Worst class I've ever taken. Whether you're an engineer or an artsie, STAY AWAY FROM STV 100. And to Morley, the topic presented is appropriate for a thesis - NOT an entire class. Simply tries too hard to make something of nothing.

It takes a while to wrap your head around what this class is.At first I thought it was bogus, but all of a sudden it became clear and I could see what he was getting at.It isn't a hard class, but the answers aren't in formulas - you have to really think.

For the students considering this course,it will go 1 of 2 ways: either you will hate it thinking why you wasted your time with the course, or you will learn something and find the material interesting. For me, it was the latter. Prof is nice and helpful
