no introduction to any of the material; never know what he is talking about; jumps from topic to topic; explains experiment after experiment without prefacing why or what they were looking for or how it is even relevant to the course- do not take this class if you don't have to.... will save hours of frustration.

Comment:
Hardest exam I have ever taken. The material itself isn't that bad, but his question style is just awful. For example, you have 10 statements and then the choices are something like: a) 5 or less of these are true b) 3 of these are true c) 2 of these are true, etc. etc. bioc 311 is a joke compared to that class.

I liked this class and the material was interesting, but Dr Nepveu really seem to hate teaching. You don't want a teacher like that, he doesn't motivate you. He discuss the aspect of the course he like (instead of teaching concepts), jumping from one topic to the other, and it's really hard to know what you should focus on.

He uses handouts rather than ppt (which is a bad thing). Very confusing, jumps from topic to topic without telling you what hes talking about. Exam questions were also difficult. Definitely my least favourite prof in this course.

He's the only professor who uses handouts rather than ppts (which isnt a good thing). He tends to ramble as well jumping from one topic to the next. My least favourite prof in this section because I dont like his teaching style and his exam questions are very difficult.

He makes easy topics difficult because he doesn't introduce concepts beforehand. He tends to jump from one idea to another and I had to re-watch his lectures A LOT. That said, if you practice his past questions you'll be okay

Honestly his material is interesting. His way of presenting it is horrid. Describes experiments to you and doesn't tell you what they are for... There are no titles to any of his notes and he loves to jump from one experiment to another. Lectures are always confusing and resulted in terrible attendance. Avoid if you don't absolutely need the class.

This professor is not good. His material is useless (bacteriophage lambda nut ad qut operons... never even told us what it meant). You can study over 50 hour for the exam and barely pass.

Great at teaching, but the midterm questions are idescribably difficult, so much so that only those who have taken this class can understand! Be very careful about the way he words the questions...that's what gets you. Other than that, nice guy in class.

Extremely rude and cocky. Asked him when we could expect grades once and he flipped out and hung up on me. Definitely not someone you would want teaching a class. Exams were random, 34-37 questions worth 50% of your grade. An overall rude teacher who doesn't seem like he wants to be teaching.

He seems like a nice guy. But the material is random as can be, and the midterm was so confusing and hard. I didn't expect this type of material for a course called macromolecules, sorry. Overall, I'm very sad.

I don't know what all these people are saying but he's not clear with his explanations. He's cocky and can be a jerk (especially with his midterm questions). Good luck if you want to do well.

Dr. Nepveu is definitely one of the best science profs I've had. Makes you think beyond the textbook. Extremely helpful and clear, lecture notes are really good. Can do well in the class as long as you study consistently and don't get behind in the work
