I loved alan, he obviously loves teaching and made a genuine effort to remember people's names even though it was a class of 90. The class appeared to be easy but I had to work for the A- ... its too bad they forced him to retire! :(

HONESTLY i don't see the big deal about this prof! His class was boring (and obviously the majority of the class agreed with me seeing as none of them came!) and his tests were unfair! To me his opinions about important topics were completly bias

I thought i had found that teacher that changes your life, and makes you want to go into a certain field. He has such passion for what he teaches and you can hear it in his voice, If you have access to a time machine, it would be well worth using it, to hear him teach. My word he is great.

It is impossible not to like the guy. Class appears to be easy, but you have to work at it. This guy is tackling the most important issues in our world today and is trying to make the world a better place. Most educational prof. I've had at UVIC, this class is life changing.

Phenomenal professor! He actually cares enough to take an hour to discuss why it is that some people may be nervous about speaking out in class. The only professor I had who welcomed students new to UVic on the first day of classes.
