Gentleman with a soft voice - even if you aren't an actor, you will learn about the process and it will be pretty easy as long as you can learn your lines and show some effort.

Comment:
Dr. Litsey is a wonderful man, and a brilliant director. However, with that being said, he is terrible in a lecture-based class. The class was a breeze, however, I would not recommend it to anyone.

He's very polarizing. The theatre kids "love" him because he's their master for four years, but honestly he's a terrible teacher. His instructions are vague, his exercises are useless, and he is an attendance nazi!

Alan was the best professor to start off my freshman year with. He's kind, helpful, jovial, and just an overall great guy. Don't ever hesitate if you need anything, because Alan will do anything to be of good help.

Comment:
Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the Theatre Dept. Kind, helpful, and always ready to listen to his students' concerns. Can be a little scatter-brained and hard to understand at times, but that's part of his charm. Only complaint is that he can be TOO nice--sometimes I just wanted to hear what I'd done wrong and get on with it!

Alan is incredibly nice and is far more understanding of others than I am. He is also very open to your comments and ideas, and will go to the uttermost lengths to help his students. There is nothing bad to be said about his teaching style.
