He is an extremely harsh grader and his comments are unhelpful. He can be rude and less than welcome to opinions, sometimes. I'd understand if a grade was warranted--most of my professors give my writing an A when my paper warranted it. Kent will not give above a B, usually.

I really enjoyed Kent's class. He is a fun professor. Though, his grading still confuses me. I suggest you go and talk with him before turning in any papers. He is very helpful.

Awesome teacher. Some didn't like him because they simply didn't want to put in the effort that Kent required. Put time and effort in to readings and papers, and meet with him at least once before you finish every paper and you are guaranteed to do well and improve your writing.

Alt. worlds was an interesting class. I'm not a big reader and the class requires ALOT of reading. like whoa. It's all about aliens and stuff. Fun class and interesting but only take it if 1) you kinda like scifi and 2) you have time to read. He's awesome. Biggest tip for him: TALK TO HIM IN OFFICE HOURS! he'll save you alot of wasted time.

Kent may be the single worst candidate for teaching LS200 class. Never before had I sat in class wondering the total extent of a teacher's arrogance. Kent is an unconventional professor, but that's a very good thing. He might not give you a grading rubric, but that's because the goal is to learn how to think. Just because a professor is difficult in class, it doesn't make him a jerk. Kent's a talented devil's advocate. Make an effort to get to know him outside of the classroom, it's worth it.

Terrible. Hate to say it because he was a really nice guy. Spent nearly 2 hours in his office trying to find out what I could write about and came out knowing less then when I went in. Granted I'm not the best creative writer but for a 100 level class the difficulty is rediculous. Don't take this guy for 102 unless you have 8+ hours per week

The readings and writings we did we're very interesting. He uses a great text book that makes you think critically and write clearly. He is also very very animated, so you would have to be dying to fall asleep in his class. If you do the readings and become friends with him, the writing will not be difficult at all. He is a great teacher.

Dr. Anderson is a crazed liberal. He makes it very clear. He does not even believe in marriage. He is a big woman's right person. Fun class. He is very animated and loves to drop the F bomb among other profanities. Very difficult not to pay attention. I def. would take him again!

I had Kent for Intro to Sci Fi and absolutely loved the class. He is a somewhat hard grader, but if you talk to him alot, he can really help you. Whoever said he doesn't care about students, is WRONG, he is always willing to make time if you need help.

The best teacher i have had yet. If you are complaining about him that probally means you cant write OR that you refuse to spen some time improving. Now a junior, my writing in other classes is a breeze and although i got an b+ in his class, every other paper i have turned in past his class has been an A. Hard but it pays off.
