You can tell that he is super passionate about psychology and that comes across in very interesting lectures. He does engage the class by asking questions to specific people, so if you don't like talking in class, beware of that. Overall great prof, easy exams, well outlined assignments.

Alard is a great prof and I have a high level of respect for him, he's engaging and made class fun to attend. It was a condensed summer course so the workload was heavy, but if you put effort into the class, you'll get a good grade. Read the textbook for tests, expectations are clearly defined for paper. You get what you put in.

Alard is an amazing prof! He is very clear with assignment guidelines and course expectations. The group project and paper was easy as he tells you exactly what to do. Midterms and quizzes were MC, probably because this was a condensed course, but everything came straight from lectures and textbook. Would definitely take class with him again.

The typical midterm, paper, presentation, final. Tests are based on the book and the paper is vague and demanding. Alard is great overall because he isn't there to teach the course and bounce, he's invested in making us aware of real-life psychologist's work. The class was well worth taking.

Alard is an awesome prof! He is a very interesting man with a great deal of experience in the field. I have taken two courses with him and in both, he has been very helpful and understanding. You have to read the textbook and pay attention to his lectures but if you do both of these things you will do well! Highly recommend!

Material is all from the textbook so it's important to read it. Says he posts his slides but he either posts them late or does not post them so I would take notes just in case. He is VERY unclear about what he expects from your journals so I would get him to read 2 of them to make sure it's what he wants. Overall, he's not too bad, would take again

Alard does all his notes straight from the textbook so showing up to class for lectures is pointless. His tests are from a test bank so you need to know a lot of little details in the textbook that you don't think are important. He has lots of little test worth 5% and 2 midterms. His class requires a lot of work to get a good mark.

Alard was a great teacher who has a great sense of humour. Alard's assignments and tests were all extremely clear and easy to pass if you knew the material. Although, he goes over the chapter through slideshows but he will still add material from the textbook in his tests that he didn't go over in class. So read the material.

Very easy, straight forward class. 7 multiple choice short quizzes, all from the textbook so it doesn't matter if you don't have time to take notes off his slides. He's sarcastic 95% of the time (picks on people a lot) and loves to have good class discussions. Very interesting and passionate guy!

All multiple choice is TEXTBOOK only. The lectures don't give you the answers. The 35% of your grade paper is marked critically, same with presentation (15%). 3 chapter tests for the last month of class (25%), Make sure to actually read the Textbook and not the slides. Awesome guy, cool discussions, tough grading

Avg prof, but I liked him ok. Cons: goes quickly w/ slides & will not go back, doesn't let students use the bathroom during lecture, WILL kick u out if he sees ur phone, a little condescending. Pros: quizzes all multiple choice, easy if you study, no participation marks but if you don't go to class when he returns the quiz you wont get your mark.

Unlike most professors, Alard takes the time to get to know everyone in the class. He personally cares about each one of his students. However, it's easy to get on his bad side if you are ever caught on your cell phone. Seriously, keep that thing put away. Overall, I will miss having him as a prof!

Expected to like him more because of the reviews, but he was a pretty avg prof. Didn't find his stories as interesting as Nadaeu's, but overall it was a good class. Lots of group activities and make sure you read the text or else quizzes are brutal.

Definitely need to do the chapter readings before class for weekly quizzes and for the final. Take good notes as the powerpoint presentation of notes won't be given out to you. Do not skip a class!! He's very easy going and even an early morning class is actually entertaining with him

Alard was a great prof! Super funny, and his lectures are super easy... He doesn't post his powerpoints online, so be sure to take good notes in class... His quizzes are very straight-forward, but you should read the text for sure before the quiz. Journal entries aren't hard, but try to keep up with them weekly... not fun to do the night before.

Great professor! Classes flew by. There were quizzes every week or two. No midterm, just a final which wasn't very hard. As far as assignments go all you had to do was 2 journal entries eery class. I will be taking his classes in the future!

He is a funny guy but very unclear. He doesn't really tell us what is gonna be on final until few days before the final. Also he goes over his slides so quickly and doesn't even post it online. I barely took notes and just studies the book for tests.

One of the best professors I've had. Takes personal interest in his students, makes the point very clear and easy to understand. Doesn't provide notes! Make SURE you read your textbook.
