Great professor, it's really clear that he has a lot of knowledge and enthusiam about the subject. His lectures should definitely be attended, as he greatly elaborates on the material presented in the slides, making the material much more understandable and eas to study.

The most disorganized prof I've had, posts lab assign until a day before your lab time gives you the wrong assignment to complete from what your lab instructor wants,5-6 hrs for each assign-labs you don't have adequate time to know what to do- midterms gives you 6-7pgs for what "going" to be on exam is about 14% whats on exam, dropthisclass.

Alec is caring and a great prof. I can't see why anyone would rate him bad. He is a very informed guy and has to bring his knowledge down to meet a 100 level class. He cares and wants you to do well in his class. He is accessible out of class and his lectures are awesome. Go to class b/c he explains his slides and makes it well worth it.

talks way too fast to even know what the material is about, is helpful after class to clarify, but end up getting more confused. out of 44 slides (powerpoint) when at the lecture- he marks every side as *on midterm* not joking. he doesn't clarify anything in class, it is better to just learn it yourself, or get a tutor to help you understand ever.

He is really enthusiastic about the material. You can tell he puts a lot of work into his slides and knows the material inside and out. Knew names of students even though it was a big class. His tests can be hard but he marks them fairly. Would love to take another class taught by him.

My favourite prof, very passionate about what he does and got me super interested in geography. tests include lots of diagrams and short answer, he emphasizes the understanding of concepts rather than memorizing of words. highly recommend a course with him.

Alec is, in my opinion, the best prof at the UofS. He is very enthusiastic about what he does and it shows in his lectures. Notes are posted but he adds additional information in lecture, but material for exams is highlighted. Very approachable both in and outside of class time, always willing to help students out.

The best prof I have had in my two years at the U of S. He gives 100% in every lecture and expects the same out of his students. Going to class is important. He drops hints about what exact material will be on the test. If you are paying attention, it makes it way easier to study. Passionate and fair. Hope to get him for other classes.

By far my favourite prof at the UofS. He is excited to be there each day and it shows in his lectures, and he is always willing to help students out outside of class and office hours. Notes are posted but more notes are added during lectures, he makes it clear what will be on the exam but you need to know specific details. Overall great prof!

There is a lot of material in this course, but it isn't completely difficult. His exams are pretty lengthy and hard, but he is pretty clear about what will be the focus. He is very excited about teaching the material and it makes lectures interesting. His humour is a bit different than mine, but I appreciate that he tries to funny and friendly.

Awesome Prof! Exams are hard but he gives you pretty good clues as to what to expect on them. He is very helpful and an overall nice guy. He also has a lot of experience in the field, which is nice. Overall, I would definitely recommend him. Beware the case studies though, they are a lot of work!

FABULOUS Prof! Actually maintains my attention (and that's saying something). Super interesting lectures, go to class and you won't have to study too much. Posts notes beforehand but you'll have to add things here and there as they're a bit vague. Beware the case studies, they are a LOT of work and only worth 5% each. Highly recommended prof though

In my 4th year university opinion, Alec is the best prof in Arts and Science at the U of S, if not then in the whole university! He cares about his students, he wants to get to know you, and his exams are extremely fair. I am not saying that his classes are a breeze, but if you go to class, he explains everything clearly, also chooses good texts!!
