If you are an Electrical Engineering student and plan on transferring to a university, take Alex for physics. He does not curve, however, you will be more prepared for your engineering courses than the university students. His classes require all of your attention, they are engaging but difficult.

Alex is a great professor. The only problem with him is that he doesn't really care about grades. He only wants you to learn the material. This is frustrating for a lot of his students. You probably won't take a harder class at the college and I mean that. If you took PHYS251, this class is much harder because the material is much more conceptual.

Alex is very strict on grading. Our entire class failed the first exam. No Curve. While everyone was outraged at first I believe everyone knew they deserved to fail. You need to put full effort toward his classes, in turn he will put full effort toward those that do. It helps having a 'peter' in class to ask all of the questions.

I also had Alex for PHYS 151, and he is the best professor I have ever had.Yes, his class is very challenging, and yes, he makes you think. I suspect that any dissatisfied students posting here have disliked either one or all of these aspects of a truly excellent professor. If you're willing to work, don't miss the chance to take physics with Alex.

Alex is a great Teacher, but don't get that confused with how easy his class is.It is required that you read the text book and do the HW. He doesn't grade HW or even look at it. He simply asks you if you did it and marks you down for completion or not. You're grade is entirely dependent upon your tests. Alix will put out as much effort as you do.

Alex is a very tough but good teacher. This is probably the hardest class I have ever taken, but if you pay attention to the examples in class and the review, you can expect what will be on the tests. He definately prepares his students for classes at universities. He said "If you want an easy 4.0 in this class, go to MSU" so he's tough.

He is a good teacher except that he has too many things planned at once and his expectation is quite confusing to all of the students (especially when it comes to Lab Report, etc.). However if you can pass his class (251 and 252) you will do fine in any other universities.

I honestly had my doubts about Alex's teachering style, from the very beginning he expressed how he cared about his students, but he gave fast paced lectures and literally piled on the homework like you were only taking his class only, then he'd get frustrated when the class wouldn't do well on the tests. I'd recommend him anyway, he'll prepare you

Easily the best professor I've had so far. This class will require a lot of work but this only results in a better understanding of physics that you won't forget a week or so after the class has ended. Be ready to put at least 15 hours outside of class in order to be successful in this class. Once you realize whats expected of you'll be fine.

Extremely difficult teacher. He expects his class to be priority and isn't understanding when you don't meet his expectations. To do well, you should devote around 12 hours of studying time outside of class. He says study sessions aren't mandatory, but you won't learn the material unless you go. Tests, homework, and bookwork to not match up.

Alex is a great guy, hard teacher but its only because he expects a lot from his students because he knows they can do it. You have to put a lot of time into his class in order to receive a good grade. Take Alex, if you really want to learn physics, it well not be an easy class though so be prepared to put the time and effort into it.

Alex is easily one of the best professors I've ever had, if not the best. He really knows his physics and knows how to keep it interesting. You'll be well prepared for exams if you complete all the activities he hands out. However, his class is not easy and you won't do well if you don't do the work. It's well worth the effort, though.

Alex is a very good teacher. He will teach you a lot of things that have to do with the subject, and even extra things the book doesn't include. This class is difficult, and Alex tells you this straight up on the first day. This class deserves at least 2-3 hours a day for homework and studying, along with the class periods.

I had him for an entire year and I had never seen any one that could make Physics so much fun! If you are ready to learn and have at least 15 hours a week for his homework assignment, you will have the time of your time(at least the time of your life in a Physics class).

Alex's Physics classes require that you work hard and devote lots of time. You will gain a in-depth understanding of Physics, math, and problem solving. If you work hard and try you will succeed. Alex is very helpful and very available. If you want an easy grade take this class with someone else, if you want knowledge this is the teacher for you.

Alex is outstanding. You WILL be challenged by his course, but you will also learn the material in a useful way. He goes beyond teaching basic formulas that aren't practical and teaches you how to utilize Calculus to adapt general formulas to real world problems. If you're looking for a blow-off course, this is NOT it. Alex wants you to learn.
