Comment:

Galvan is the best if you need to learn "musicianship" (sight singing), but you don't know which method is best for you. He understands that everyone learns differently and is very accommodating of that. He will let you prove your sense of pitch by singing solfege, note names, or even numbers. He is an oasis in a desert of opinionated teachers.

Really nice guy. Cares about his students. Quirky. Explains well and re-explains if necessary. Sometimes gets sidetracked about life lessons, but alright to listen to. Will take the time to speak to you before or after class. I like him as a person and as a teacher. Too bad this is last semester here.

I took Mr. Galvan for beginning piano and he is really nice and cares about his students. He normally holds students hand but since he saw a lot of us had background experience, he allowed us to work on our own. I wish he taught the second level of piano. I missed class a few times in the semester. I recommend students to take his piano class.

Galvan is great! I took him for fundamentals, and I often skipped his class to go get lunch with friends. Looking back, I kinda wish I didn't, mainly because he's such a great professor. I already had a background in music going into this class, which is why I would skip so often. But I still passed with an A. Even now, he still asks how I'm doing

I took only one of his classes over a year ago and he still remembers my name and everything. Very nice person. He is happy to explain material in class over and over until you understand even if your English isn't fluent. If you're absent, he asks you if everything is okay when other teachers could get mad/upset.

He really knows his stuff. He won't teach you how to use the program you have to research yourself because theres tons of ways to do what you ask. You tube everything before class it helps A LOT. Midterm is a 2min preview of what u made same for final. You use logic 9 and an axiom 49 midi controller. Amazing Class. You will learn SO much

I took his beginners Music Fundamentals class. He is an excellent teacher. He knows a LOT about music and is a very proficient musician. His class moved at an easy/moderate pace. His tests were fairly short, easy-medium difficulty and he gave extra credit. He is very approachable and wants his students to do well. I would recommend this teacher!

Amazing class, been a musician all my life but never knew how to play piano. After 1 semester I can now play,improv and read music, not very good at it, but I can do it. One of the greatest professors I've had. He is such a nice and caring person that you could never hate <3. He got me into music and I'm lovin' it because he helped me out so much. I highly recommend this professor to anyone, even those who are really new to music. His piano skills are of superb level; always a pleasure to my ears~

There are no rules to this class so it's really easy. You just have to make two songs. He doesn't teach either. Which some will like but I actually wanted to learn how to use the program to create songs and I had to find out almost everything by myself or from other students. I can barely use the equipment . Only take this if you want an easy A

Very nice guy, easy to be in class with but shouldn't be teaching anymore, he can't explain himself or offer too much help. I learned more from the tutor department.
