Spanish is my minor, but I am not the best at the language and forget a lot of stuff. I found the material quite boring but he gives you a 100 on almost all assignments as long as you try. He is a very nice and helpful professor and is very clear with assignments and due dates.

Comment:

Dr. Selimov is by far the nicest and most caring professor I have ever had. This class was an easy A, and it is because he gives you many chances to correct mistakes. All exams (except for an easy final) are take home. To succeed, show up to lecture and take notes/listen. No textbook, just online readings. I would definitely recommend this class.

Profesor Selimov is an amazing professor. I've taken numerous Spanish classes, as a Spanish major, and he's my absolute favorite professor. He's extremely intelligent. He truly cares about his students and really helps students do well in class. Readings are online - no textbook needed. I looked specifically for his name to look for classes.

Professor Selimov truly wants his students to succeed. He makes himself available throughout the semester, and sometimes will even provide pizza during his office hours if he thinks it will be busy. You have a chance to make up quizzes and exams. I would take his class over again and again. Reading was song lyrics and some articles posted online.

1 short story per week, vocab quizzes every other week which are easy grade boosters, 2 easy online exams, and one long essay which is due during finals but he gives you plenty of time to work on it. Not the quickest grader, but he is very fair. Don't panic over participation he is just trying to scare you. Be ready to read stories by Becquer!!

He is great! Honestly, Selimov is all over the place not really very organized but that is what makes the class fun. He is always making us laugh. He has two exams during the semester which are take home and then one final in class essay. You need to go to class to learn the material because he only lectures. If you have a friend, you can rotate.

Comment:

Love, Honor and Power is the best Spanish course for me so far. It challenged me in terms of reading, but I learned a lot. Selimov allows re-writing of papers and tests and that really helped my grade. Good job!

I did not learn a single thing in this class minus a few vocab words. He jumps around all during the lectures, so you have no idea where he is reading from. He likes to ask you questions more on analysis rather than the actual story line, so no one knows what's going on during class. At least he's a lenient grader...

He's a really great professor and great guy. He begins the semester by getting a feel for everyone's ability level and focuses the class around that. He's truly passionate about Spanish literature. He forces you to analyze Spanish lit unlike you otherwise ever would. My favorite professor so far- take a class with him if you have the chance!

Dr. Selimov is an amazing teacher who to this day I still admire. I highly reccomend him. He is very caring about his students and passionate about the material he teaches. He is the kind of teacher that will take time out of his schedule to work with you, that is very rare in a big university setting.
