I had Professor Cohoe for Psych 1001 and he was great, but he was not the same teaching Abnormal Psychology. He rarely lectured during class and mostly recounted the same few stories from several patients he had over the years. I admire his wisdom of the profession, but I wish he had taught us more.

So happy he us still teaching! Grad in 80s w Psych major. fantastic prof, taught me to be a more observant person, loved how he challenged us to use what he taught eg analyze character in movie or celebrity.still laugh about his stories.still want my wedding gift! Great prof! don't remember class numbers!

It was a pretty hard class for a gen psych course, but it wasn't too difficult compared to other classes at onu. Go to class, pay attention, and read the book and you should be fine. He keeps the information interesting, but he tells a lot of useless stories..

Very fair, but I really didn't get what I wanted out of the class. I like him a lot, I was just looking for more. The movies suck, but his lectures are great...I just wish he'd spend more time lecturing than showing movies. Hated the "Q&A" sessions...wasted a lot of time with those.

Grade is completely based on 4 tests. Tests are somewhat long and pretty tricky, but he's also very fair. Curves tests, generally eliminates your worst score of the 4. Seems intimidating, but very nice guy when you actually talk to him. Very experienced and probably one of the best in the business. You have to give effort, but it's worth it.

Wow, did I learn a lot! I loved his class, even though I hate most forms of psychology. I could sit and listen to Dr. Cohoe lecture for hours. I can't wait to take more classes with him. He conveys the info so well, you'll remember everything he says as long as you're listening. His tests are challenging, but I'm not complaining. Highly recommended

Well I took a classes from him in 1972. Even then he was known as very difficult, and the best there was on campus. We had students attend his lectures even though were not taking his classes! Still remember him fondly 40 years later. I got a B.A. in psychology from ONU in 1972.

Very enjoyable class. Dr. Cohoe knows his stuff and conveys it in a way understandable to everyone, and is approachable if additional clarity is needed. Take very good notes, as the tests are 50/50 notes and book. Tests are lengthy, but not terrible. Textbook is an easy read as well. Cares about students and makes class fun. Very highly recommended

Very interesting stories from his years of fieldwork, but I get the feeling he's a bit of a creepy old man. On his tests, there's a multiple choice page on the lectures, but the 70 multiple choice are almost entirely from the text, of which he rarely discusses in class. You definitely need to study that book! Use the website and make flashcards!

Amazing professor hands down! Very knowledgeable and experienced (the guy knows what he is talking about)! Test are hard, but read the book and use the study guide and you're golden for at least a B. In High School, I wasn't that interested in Psychology; however, after taking this course and if I wasn't a business major, I would major in Psych!

Although Cohoe is the best teacher in the department and he has amazing classes as well as prizes after tests; it simply is not worth taking the class unless you want to study your ass off and get a C....trust me, he is very hard!

everyone told me to take his class because he's fun but it wasn't all that exciting; he seems intimidating and isn't very available, and the cliff-hangers at the end of class were more often annoying than interesting... i just wanted to know rather than wait 24 hours (by then i'd lost interest)
