She is one of the best professor I have ever had.her exams are hard but if you do the problems in the work book, it shouldn't be a problem to do the exam. She is always very helpful if you are willing to take time to go to her office and ask questions. I am glad that I had her as my Ochem teacher and I changed my major to chemistry after that.

she is just wasting state money by sitting there for nothing. she may know the subject but she never talk about o.chem. she will start early in the morning my cat. who cares about her cat. unorganized and nonsense teacher. if you have a choice do not take class with her. go to the other colleges around. there are a lot of fine instructors.

One of the worst teachers I've had. This class hurt my GPA b/c of the impossible tests. Completing the problems in the textbook and workbook will not prepare you for exams and the questions on the exams are often ones not covered in class (same goes for the online quizzes). Teaching is very unorganized & she wastes a lot of time. Go to Shoreline CC

The group work wasn't that bad unless you got stuck in a bad group. There could've been more organization and lectures but I learned more in ochem than I ever will at uw where I am now. Sara was a nice person and tried to help. Ochem was hard, but all upper level science classes past this are HARDER, so she's just trying to prepare you.

Terrible teacher!! Does not teach class during lecture time, instead has you sit in groups and work in a workbook that does not coincide with the textbook. Questions in workbook and textbook are not at all similar to what she includes on the exam. The exams are full of uncovered material with lots of surprises. This class is a waste of tuition $!!!

Easy assignments, labs, and quizzes, but tests are near impossible. She gives no specifics for what we will be tested on and her lectures are not well planned at all. Gets off topic very easily and rambles about her past. She is very nice and near genius in her subject but that makes her think the hardest problems are easy for us.

No professionalism in course, zero organization, online quizzes often posted late and contain questions never covered. Lab assignments not posted, Syllabus is a joke & chapter reviews posted late "if" at all. Frequently off topic - a waste of tuition dollars.

Irresponsible. Always late with posting assignments, and even her own attendence! She really gets off topic too much to be acceptable. You learn more about her life back in Michigan than you do about Chemistry. Instead of explaining things in class, she expects students to read the textbook and she tests mostly on material learned OUTSIDE OF CLASS.

Sara is a great teacher. Organic Chemistry is just a hard subject to pick up. Someone before mentioned the problem is with the book; this is very true. The book used is actually pretty ridiculous so I bought a different book and it all makes sense now. If you dont wanna buy another book then just pay attention to what Sara says. Very helpful

She helps with whatever she can and she's a very nice person. O-Chem is just very difficult so be ready to study A LOT and still get crappy grades on exams. I think the problem with this course is that the book doesnt make sense. It's probably just me but it helps a lot to have someone explain the stuff in simpler terms

She might not be a good organic chem intructor (don't know) but she's an EXCELLENT Chem 101 teacher. She's nice, a fair grader, and since its only chem 101, she goes easy on the class, just remember to STUDY, and she uses alot of the practice questions in the exams

Sara is a super nice person and a genius when it comes to o-chem, however she is not a good teacher at all. When you sign up for the class be ready to study EVERY day or you will not get a good grade. The tests are very challenging (class average is 70 in all tests)and way harder than the problems in the book, but just pratice!!!!

Sara is a great prof!! She's fun, brilliant and cares. I disagree with the comments re: NO curve. The is a curve... it's just that some people do a lot better in O-Chem than others and it makes it seem like there is no curve. O-Chem is HARD in general. Sara really tries to prepare you for going on the a 4 year university.

Horrible! Do not take her! You'll be working your ass off every day on HW but get results that do not match your effort b/c her lectures are so worthless and exams are so difficult with no curving! What prof. in their right mind gets an exam avg of 50-60 and not curve the exams??? Don't expect to get a good grade unless you're a chem genius!

She has a great personality, but she's the worst prof. I've had. She's not organized, never writes notes on board and talks really fast, so you don't even have enough time to write anything down. Her tests are super difficult and tricky. I recommand not taking her class(organic chem. that is) at all.

I agree that she seems excited about the field, but if chemistry doesn't come easy to you, she won't do it for you. Barely writes any notes on the board. She just likes to talk. Gives no worksheets or exam preps and exams are way harder and trickier than the HW in the text. Her explanations only make sense to chem intellects of her caliber.
