A perfect example of everything that is wrong with tenure. Severe punishments for not showing up to lecture (1/2 letter grade for EVERY two unexcused absences and participation is 30% of the grade, not that there is a chance to participate). Absolute waste of time and energy, always off topic. Interested in opto-electronic devices? Not any more!

I learned a lot from his class, although it was very unorthodox. Homework and readings were soft pace, but heavily important for the exams. The lectures are disorganized and somewhat disconnected from the material, but it was an opportunity for me to analyze and explore new views in engin. and the world, although most student skipped his lectures.

Terrible terrible teacher. Class is very unorganized and has no structure. I swear he wings it everyday. I honestly am not learning anything in this class. The professor is honestly....terrible. The class would not be bad if someone else were to teach it.

He is by far the worst professor I've ever had. In Optoelectronics, we have not learned ONE thing, instead, we are learning some screwed up form of DeFonzo economics. If you want to actually learn something, stay away.
