Although the course is an interesting one, Alice is the worst professor. it is her opinion or no opinion at all. she will call you out in front of the whole class and make you feel dumb for saying something she does not agree with, even when it is right. A lot of assignments that do not count for marks. She is a fair marker, but its not worth it.

She could care less about your opinions, it's all about her. Will spend more time talking about her life then actually teaching course content.

The class is very interesting but this Professor is one of the worst Profs I have ever had in my entire life. Throughout my 4 years at York I have never had any terrible experiences but she definitely gets the award for worst prof ever. Also, don't bother complaining to the Dean or anyone, they won't care because she's been teaching for so long.

Worst prof I ever had. She spend all lecture showing videos to avoid actually lecturing. She posts no info on moodle, which makes no difference because there is no pont going to her lecture. Her feminist perspective ruined socio for me. She is rude and likes to be called "Dr" despite her grammatical errors and technological incompetence.

Took 1010 with her in 2010 & I'm not shocked that she's still getting bad reviews. She's ridiculous. Treats you like you're in high school, will call you out if you're talking & insists that you refer to her as DR. Propper. I stopped going to class because she didnt teach.I read the textbook cover to cover. I dont even know how she still teaches.

She related the course content with current topics in the news, which I always found interesting. Lots of videos to accompany her lectures. Tests were straightforward M/C, and very easy if you do your readings. She will call you out/remove you if you're disruptive during lecture, which I think she gets bad rep for. Overall great prof.

She treats you as if you were in high school. She tried to separate 2 people because they were too loud and she makes you feel horrible for asking for help. She is full of herself and we are required to address her as Dr. Propper. She always talks about herself and focus little on the course material. She is also extremely biased and arrogant.

Terrible. I had an emergency surgery and she made a fuss about my partner informing her on my behalf. Despite documentation, she said that if I wanted to make up a test I had to see her in person. When I got there, she berated me about not contacting her myself! I tried to explain the obvious but her verbal assault continued until I was in tears.

The class I took with her was Women and the Criminal Justice System. She is the worst Professor I have ever had. She sets you up to fail from the start. Takes off marks if you go to the bathroom while she is speaking. Further she is not helpful, treats students poorly. Such a shame because the topic would be so interesting if someone else taught it

Not interesting at all. I had her for first year undergrad intro. to SOCI and I fell asleep in numerous classes because she was boring and talked about irrelevant things. The textbook itself wasn't so bad to read though. But she marks in a really picky way too. She cares about the pointless, insignificant details...

RUN do not take her class, useless- and boring does not have a text book and makes you download readings online and makes you do homework that is not even marked or needed for exam!!! hard marker, and picks on the smallest little****. Awful prof! She makes you do long and laborious "homework sheets" on readings that aren't even marked, but must be done to her exact standards. Her knowledge is outdated, she doesn't like to be proven wrong, she blabs on about irrelevant topics, is technologically challenged,is not helpful, and just a plain BORE. This woman needs to STOP TEACHING!

She is terribly biased but refuses to admit so. Much of her knowledge is outdated and if recent information is brought to her attention, instead of being appreciative, she will sh*tlist you for the rest of the year. Any other professor would round a final grade of 79.83 to an A. Not her. RUN.

The content of this course is very inetersting although Propper is not a helpful Professor at all! The course is taught by endless presentations and she does not explain mandatory course material. Propper is not pleasant nor does she encourage good classroom discussion. The worst prof I had in my undergrad!
