I think Dr. Strange is okay. Shes not the best teacher and not the worst. I find it easy to learn new languages, and I got really bored with the slow pace of her classes. Even the advanced French classes are still taught in English, so my reading and writing ability were much stronger than my speaking ability.

She is kind of awkward and unapproachable. I learned more from her than my other French professors but her lessons are boring. And one word: HANDOUTS. She probably single-handedly killed an acre of trees. Grades really easy though. posts the handouts online which is also nice.

I had Dr. Strange for my UI 100 class. It is a really easy class and it really easy to get a B.We talk about thing that make no sense at all. We did do a couple of speech and have to watch a french filmm but she grade really easy.

I took Macleay my first semester, got an A, and learned quite a bit. But since then I've had to consistently take Dr. Strange and my grades have gone down to a very low B, high C, and I can't speak a sentence in French. It's pretty sad that because of her classes I'm starting to hate my major.

Comment:

Learning a new language is always difficult, so don't think you can just pass by without ever coming to class. I have never had any French before, but did very well in this class. You must take time to really study the chapters and listen to the audio given for it, it REALLY helps. She's a great, experienced teacher and really cares. Recommended!!

She is a really easy teacher, but if you plan on learning anything, you need to take Dr. Macleay. Especially take him for lower level classes so you get a better background of French. She just doesn't really know enough to be a college professor.

Very nice woman, knows a lot about French. However, her teaching style is very fast paced. Tends to do several different topics per class, without much transition between them. Just study and ask questions, you'll do fine.
