Terrific! He's passionate about acting. I saw him rip three guys to shreds this morning for presenting a scene that wasn't prepared. This is a prof training program, and they deserved it. They hadn't read the script, and he nailed them on it. But he never attacks the person. It's all about the work presented and choices. It's always constructive.

Great professor! He's incredibly perceptive. He doesn't seem to ever miss anything when he's working with actors. He's tough, but he's always hits the mark. Only students who can't take the truth think he plays favorites. He wrote the book on acting - literally. If you're looking for a college and want to become a professional actor, he's your man.

He's a good teacher, but his class is only for those who are serious about studying theatre. I wasn't fond of his grading technique; he grades students in comparison to other students. I realize that's how it works in the real acting world, but since it was a beginner's acting class, I thought there should have been a little bit of leeway.

Ditto with the last comment. For serious students of theatre, Stilson's one of the best teachers at this university. He does NOT play favorites--male or female. He simply has little tolerance for laziness or bad attitudes. He is brutally honest with his critiques, but he's usually right on the money. He says what others only think.

The best teacher of acting I've ever had. His book is extraordinary, and his class incredible. Good students who are interested in pursuing a career in theatre, film, & television love him. However, he has little use for mediocre students, like others on this site who have dogged him because they most likely weren't up for the challenge.

A good guy who can occasionally rub people the wrong way. He wants dedication, and doesn't settle for anything less - and from time to time drives away those who can't take criticism or don't understand him. Always anxious to help, and talk, and will meet with you if you don't understand something.

Came into this class as a Theatre Major, left it as a different major. He will belittle his students for fun. He has ego for no reason, he teaches theatre in Southeast Missouri. He liked for the girls to wear low cut shirts and the boys to kiss his ass. If you love theatre... run away.
