Comment:

This was the first time she taught this class so my guess is it will change for the next semester. Lots of memorization and its very lecture heavy. It is a writing emphasis class so be prepared for lots of papers

Comment:

This class is great for people who don't need upper level math. She's good about partial credit and cancelled class about once a week. The practice problems taught me most of the info, as her lectures only cover the absolute basics of each section. If you are going into Calc 2 or 3, you probably won't feel prepared unless you study on your own.

Comment:

Ms. Owen is amazing. I went to office hours for this class often and she will easily clear any concerns. I love math and at points it was so easy I wished I would've taken a harder class. She gives partial credit on tests so if you mess up it does not hurt you that bad. Homeworks were super short and easy and you could go over them in class often.

Comment:

Ms. Owen is one of my favorite professors so far. As long as you put forth some effort at all you will do fine. Quizzes and homeworks are great grade boosters and the tests are reasonable as long as you study. If you need any help at all go to her office hours! I really enjoyed her class and am taking her again for a different math because of it.

Prof. Owen is so cute. She reminds me of Phyllis from the tv show The Office. You have a quiz almost everyday but they're super easy, some are even take home. Her lecture examples are odd No textbook necessary. Tests are easy and get a little more diff. throughout course. Not hard class at all if you go each day. Easy A. Also I'm terrible at math.

Mrs Owen is a really nice lady and her class was a breeze. You do have to study and put in effort, but just redo the practice problems and you will be fine. Her lectures are kind of hard to sit through, but she goes very slowly to ensure everyone understands. Great class

Take Professor Owen for Applied Calculus, you will pass. She is such an incredible professor who is willing to help, fair, understanding, kind, humble, and grades accordingly. She gives you note packets during class that match the tests. You take a quiz usually every class. 5 lowest quiz grades dropped. Final replaces lowest test up to 75%.

She is very patient and very helpful. Sometimes her grading is a little frustrating with partial credit. It was the first time she's taught Calc in a while so this year was a little rough. I don't recommend you take her unless you have a little bit of background in Calculus!

ElemStats: She's a very patient person, very helpful. All notes, lectures, answer keys, study guides, etc are posted online. Homework is optional. The tests can be a little more difficult, but she's always willing to make time for you in office hours and you can ask review questions at the start of each class

Very longboringhard to pay attention lectures. Drink some coffee before, take all the notes, and pay attention (attendance taken daily) if you want a good grade. She is very sweet, willing to do anything to help, and is a classic old school teacher. Do the homework (not graded) to stay on top of things. Uses graphing calculator daily!! Work hard.

Best Elementary Stats teacher hands down. So easy to understand, and that's coming from someone who hates math. Makes notes, drops quiz grades, reviews for each test and help sessions before each test. Come to class and pay attention and you will get an A! Ms.Owen is a great teacher. She explains well. You will need to pay attention and work through the problems as she does in class, especially if math isn't your thing. Your final can replace lowest exam. Only 5 quizzes count. Colorful handouts help you keep organized, and have great info. Work through these and you don't necessarily need the book.

She's okay. Class is interesting and everything but, she talks through some of her tests! She talked, quite loudly, through the third test and did it again through the final! I emailed her and told how it distracted me through it and she didn't even apologize. I'm an A student and got a C in this class. Her class is fun, she can just be annoying.

Teaches for everyone to understand. Best Stats teacher at TCU. Lots of extra credit and she is sweet. Just do the practice problems off of her printed notes and the test review sheet and you will get 100% on the test. Also practice old exams that your friends may have.

The material is what it is. She teaches it in such a way anyone can understand. Does not check homework and has random pop quizzes that count as bonus points on your lowest test. Gives handouts on what she teaches and is very easy to work with. If you don't understand something, attend her office hours - she will answer any question you have.

I was horrified of taking stats, especially after looking over the text but Ms. Owen made it very doable. Go to class and write down everything she does. Dont get behind and even the math challenged can make an A with effort. She was available outside of class and offered significant extra credit. This is the one to take!
