The lecture is super boring but you can tell he's passionate about the subject. The essays are very simple but the tests are kind of hard. I did very well on the essays but got a C average on the tests. There is also lots of hw.

The questions on the homework are often times not clear, and then you get docked points severely by the TA for not following directions that are clearly not written in the assignment.

Unless you study computer science, I would avoid this class with Ojeda at all costs. His lectures are bland and absolutely void of enthusiasm. Granted, he knows what he is talking about because he wrote the textbook, but he is NOT a good teacher and is difficult to approach. Make sure to work in a group, because I solo'd and it SUCKED.

Ojeda is generally a good professor. He delivered the lecture in a comprehensive way. However, he does not speak clearly. He does not give any sample tests. The essays makes up 30% for the overall scores and the scoring of the essays is highly depended on the TA! The reason why I have just one step to get an A is because my essay score is not high.

Professor Ojeda was a nice guy and the class was interesting even as a non-linguistics major. Theres a midterm and final; the final isn't cumulative but it was necessary to know info from midterm 1. He put up the phonetics for tests and also had 2 papers due. Book homework is mandatory and graded on correctness. 0.3% extra credit given every week.

Good professor. His tests are pretty common sense based so they're not that hard. The homework is graded by TA's on completion, not accuracy. The lectures aren't the most lively but you can tell he's passionate about the subject and he explains it pretty well. Just go to lecture, do your homework, and do the extra credit, and you'll get an A.

This class is very easy if you are a CS major. There are 7 homeworks and 2 take home exams that determine your grade. The lectures are 100% identical to the book since the professor just reads out of the book that he wrote himself in lecture. Great GPA booster with very little time required if you are a CS major that also counts as an elective!

His lectures can be unstructured and confusing, but nonetheless informative if you manage to stay awake and attentive. There is extra credit with every weekly homework assignment, which gives your grade a really nice buffer. You WILL need the textbook to complete hw. 2 essays, 1 midterm, 1 final; not too difficult and all very reasonably graded.

Sometimes is was hard to understand him in lectures. You really should go to the lectures because the topic is sometimes difficult to grasp just by reading the book. You have to read a lot and there is A LOT of homework that is sometimes difficult. You have essays and tests (which seem easy but are actually hard) so you work for an A.

Possibly the most boring professor ever. Reminds me of Professor Binns from Harry Potter. He's a nice man and wants his students to do well, but the way he presents the material surprisingly difficult to understand. He tells you to buy his reader from Copy Maxx, which is his slides printed out, but you really don't need it. TAs will save your grade

Sure his lectures are kinda boring, but the material is pretty straightforward. Plus, he doesn't give out the midterm until a week after he finishes the content, which I really do appreciate! You might also want to watch out on the essays. Make sure to have the TA's check them before you turn them in. Their grading criteria is sorta confusing.

Boring lecture. You might fall asleep in class, tbh, I did. Need to read one chapter and finish homework every week. Two essays, kind of easy. One midterm and final. Anyway, a good TA will definitely help you to get good grades.

The material isn't hard. The way he teaches and approaches the material is unclear, unhelpful and uninspiring. This isn't "know your vocabulary class". Know the application of the concepts. Teacher is useless. Go to TAs for help. They will be your saving grace. Hardest class and irritating class I've taken at Uc Davis. I've taken ochem BTW.

An occasionally funny professor. Tbh, a lot of concepts can be helped with your TA (depending on who you get, since they range from useful to useless). About 3 questions on every test are stuff he never said in class nor was in the textbook. The textbook is useful about half the time. Not that interesting of a class.

Easy GE. Allows work with partner for homework. Homework can be long at times. Helpfulness of your TA can affect the ease of this course. Two essays were assigned, but they aren't hard. Exams are all MC, but there are no study guides provided. Many people skip lecture (it's rather boring), but lectures notes will definitely help you when studying.

The class is way too easy. I received a 100% on the final--it probably wasn't even curved for me. Essays were plain and simple, really easy. Tedious homework but I finished it in about half an hour. Like most people, I never went to lecture. I had a crap TA, but I still managed to prevail. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family!

There are absolutely no study guides for the midterm or the final so you do not know what to study or expect at all. My TA sucked and was even more confusing than the professor's extremely boring and confusing lecture, so I had to learn everything from the book (each chapter could be at 60 pages length). Choose another professor.

Lectures are super boring. I lost motivation to even go to class. Too much work for a GE. Tests are tough because he doents give you a study guide or any practice midterms so its hard to expect what will be on it.

His lectures are so boring that I wouldn't be able to pay attention even if you paid me. He doesn't upload any slides; instead, he prints them in a reader that you have to buy. No study guides for exams at all and very long homework. I get the vibe he doesn't really care about his students. Take the course with another professor.

The class seemed interesting at first but then it got super boring quickly. If i hadn't started skipping class i could have done a lot better. There is weekly hw, it is time consuming, but easy. The prof is sweet and cool but this was not the class for me.
