Professor Alvey was great. I took his class online and he was very helpful whenever I needed. I would recommend any of his classes (I took 2) to anybody. His assignments were more than just reading then writing, he gives a lot of lattitude.

Best history teacher ever. He is so funny, seriously. makes history entertaining. 5 tests - no final, easy A. class is curved when the course is finished (i don't see why its so easy). even if you dont try you will get an A like i did.

I took Prof. Alvey for both West. Civ. I & II. His classes were a breeze. However, you are responsible for the material in the textbook that he doesn't cover. This doesn't really add up to much though. Take him and study a little. It's a definite A. Oh yeah, he's pretty hilarious too!

Alvey is a really cool older professor. If you read the chapters and go to class and take notes, you will be fine. His tests are usually on the stuff he wentover briefly in class,and not so much the material he went in depth about. im taking him for west civ II because i liked him so much.

Professor Alvey is great! Anyone telling your wrong is probably just lazy, never takes notes, and never reads the book and expects to get an A. His lectures and ?'s he asks come straight from the text. Work: no research papers, 5 tests, you can choose essay ? or multiple choice. It doesn't get easier than that. He's also very nice and funny.

He is very liberal in his grading, an all-around laid back teacher, and pretty funny. He encourages class participation but does not force it on anyone. Tests are very fairly done, and you have four days to make it up if you miss it. You could not go to class at all and still do good if you read the book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Took this as an online class. You basically write 4 essays. He gives you the criteria. I did stop in and meet with him to clarify what he was looking for. He was extremely helpful and a really great man. I would recommend this class to anyone that can write pretty well.

Funny guy. Laughs at his own jokes in class, but whenever I come to his office, he is serious and helpful to the highest eschelon. Takes test material from the book as well as the notes, but the notes are really from the book anyway. For the first test, I didnt finish reading one of the 3 assigned chapters and still got an 80. Very nice guy.

He gets down to the poing; does not drag on about useless historical information that other teachers concentrate on. He is very helpful and asks for very little. The easiest way to get a good grade in his class is to participate, if you cannot get an A or a B in this class then you should not be in college. Over all, this is a very easy class.

Wow i loved history and still do, but he almost destroyed it for me. There is no point in writing notes because very little to none of what he says is on the test. If you decide to take the essay instead of the MC, he is the worst grader in the history of graders. He wants a 10 page, very thought out, detailed essay written in 1 hour. DO NOT TAKE
