I took his class because of the reviews, but he is aweful. He trails off and repeats the same stories over and over again. There is an alternative paer if you fail the midterm. He automactically assumes everyone is a criminal justice major.

I took this professor online, and he truly is an outstanding professor. He reply's very quickly to his emails, so whenever there is an issue, you can usually expect an answer quickly. As far as the class goes; read the text book and answer with detail. You get a week per chapter usually so it is not bad at all. Just put in effort and you get an A.

He is a really funny guy, tells you stories of when he was a officer for the Philadelphia Police Department. He really knows his stuff, just have to attend his lectures otherwise you lose a point per time you're absent. The criminologist theory opinion paper is important, not too difficult but if you don't do it you will fail. I reccomend this prof

Lots of funny stories that are relevant to what was being taught. Only graded on midterm, final, attendance and one essay. If you do bad on the midterm he gives you a chance to get a better grade through a term paper. Easy A if you show up

Awesome teacher take him you will enjoy his class. he doesnt randomly pick on you to answer questions like some teachers do. mid term and final thats it. if you dont do good on mid term he gives you a chance to bring up your grade and he usually gives a way higher grade on your paper if you did bad on paper. Take him!!

Stories about his service as a captain in the Philly police department are repetitive. Not going to help in my future nor do the stories contain any meaning for students to advance forward in life. 2 exams. 8-page research paper is optional if you receive a bad test grade. DON'T TAKE, because you'll learn more from the textbook than the professor.

He is awesome. He tells about his experiences as a Philly police officer. You have to do a lot of reading but it is al worth it because the class isn't hard.

It really all depends on how you learn. I have taken him for five classes in the past two semesters because of the fact that he is such a great person. His lectures are based on all of his experiences of being a cop. All of the actual learning is on you, however he does tell you exactly what to study. Only three grades for the class. Also hilarious

This was such an interesting intro class. Professor only talks about the police aspect of criminal justice. Interesting past experience, but almost never connects with the actual course material. Does not try to have a relationship with his students, just lectures, not an interactive class. Overall interesting class, couldve had a better teacher.

He talks a lot about his own experiences in police work. The only grades he gives you is for attendance, midterm and final. He also gives you Everything you need to know for the midterm and final. Just show up, read and study and you got yourself a solid grade.

Professor Ritchie is a very nice guy. However when it comes to teaching he tends to get a little off topic and tells stories when he worked for the Philadelphia Police Department. He does briefly lecture the main points, but then gets the class lost by going on to something different. If you want to pass, just read the book.

Lots of experience in the field. Lectures are based entirely off of him reading powerpoints. He is very unspecific within the lectures. Paper to write if you do poorly on the midterm, screw up on the final and your screwed.

Prof Ritchie is a great teacher. I've taken him 3 times in two semesters. He knows a lot about the criminal justice field and is a great teacher to take. Each of his classes are the same. You have a midterm, midterm paper (only if you do poorly on the midterm), and a final. I would recommend him to everyone!

Professor Ritchie is an amazing teacher!. He does not teach in the traditional way, he gives lectors based on hes life experience. But, if you have any questions he will help you! He always gives the pages that will be on the test. The exams are pretty hard though, but if you study by the giving pages you'll be fine. TAKE HIM!!

Great teacher with a lot of experience in his field. He was Chief Inspector in Philly until 99'. Long lectures, no homework, and he tells you all the textbook pages that will be on the tests. As long as you read and study the pages, you'll pass. He offers an 8 pg term paper which if you do it, he erases your midterm grade ad gives you an A. TAKE!

I personally though Professor Ritchie was an amazing teacher. As some of the other comments, he does grade 3-4 things depending on class, SOCI150, reaction paper, MT, F, and Attendance, but he also gives you a chance to redeem grades with midterm papers/final papers to get a better grade on them, ultimately, this is an A class

Bob is a nice guy but his class is very unorganized. Tends to drift off in telling stories about his life and ending up not getting through the amount of information you need to. theres a midterm, final and attendance grade. nice guy but if you wanna learn something avoid him

i really liked him as a person. he always made me laugh and his stories about being a philly cop were so interesting. i just really didnt like how the class was structured. youre only graded on one paper, 2 exams, and attendance. his lectures were all off power points and he tells you what to study from a class before the exam so cramming is a must
