I took her class a few years back and I can honestly say that in no class before or since have I had to take as many notes as quickly. Once you can get down a a good way to take her notes, however, she does a really good job preparing you for the class. It'll be obviously pretty early in that, with as many notes as she gives you she's thurough

She gives a lot of information in her lectures. Tests are hard, but the assessments aren't too bad. Keep up on your studies in this class; study a little bit every day and you can do well.

Comment:

Dr. Aulthouse has tougher quizzes but it only helps you in the long run. Tries to make lecture more interesting and draws A LOT of diagrams. Anatomy is just one of those classes that you have to STUDY for A LOT. It's not impossible, you just have to work and Dr. Aulthouse is willing to help outside of class and in review sessions.

She expects so much from her students. I felt her quizzes were over very picky details and unfair. Her lectures are rushed and her notes can be confusing. If you take this class with her be ready to study more than you ever have, if you plan to do well. She will help you outside of class. Study every night, and know everything she covers.

Dr. A is one of the best teachers I have had in my time here at ONU. She is very difficult and expects that you do that work. However, you will learn so much information and it will give you such an amazing background for all other Biology classes that you will take here. It will not be an easy 'A' but it will be MORE THAN WORTH IT in the end.

I loved Dr. Aulthouse. I had her Winter quarter at 8:00 A.M. including Wednesdays. I never missed a class. She did give a lot of notes and talked a lot about the diagrams in the book, but she kept it interesting. Genuinely cares about the people in the class. She has made me want to take more biology classes even though my major is engineeing.

She seriously sucks as a prof. Her questions on quizzes and exams will without a doubt be the most obscure details from your book or lecture. She will be more than willing to help you if you are failing, but if you have a C, she will ask you why you are concerned and why you are at her office hours. Seeing her outside of class was no help for me.

Don't listen to what everyone else says. Dr. Aulthouse is a great professor. Explains things extremely well, and tells you everything you need to know. If you study, this class is actually not hard. Aulthouse is a great lab instructor, too. Her lab quizzes are much easier than some of the other profs'.

Your hand will indeed be sore after 50 minutes of furiously paced notetaking, but this is a result of the immense amount of information that must be presented in anatomy, not because of her poor lecturing skills.
