Comment:
She's VERY disorganized. VERY confusing on what the assignment is. There are basically no due dates so it's very difficult to keep track of everything. Was expecting to do more art related projects in this 2D class, but instead spent my hours outside of class looking for sticks, feathers, etc. This class is very boring. Regret taking it.

Professor Lay does not grade things on time. She has waited until the very last day to submit grades to finally grade assignments from Week 2. She is accessible, for all the times I have attempted to contact her, she has failed to respond each time. Her quizzes and test are easy enough, do not expect any feedback on the writing assignments however.

Not the most amazing teacher but she is caring and very flexible with due dates if more than half the class isn't finished with a project. She is a tough grader and would make you re-do or change anything in your project but she will let you turn it in late as long its is complete. if you love honest opinions on your work, this is your teacher.

Professor Lay is not a very good professor. She's incredibly unhelpful when she responds to your emails. She tends to grade papers as if she's an English teacher, especially focusing on proofreading, but her prompts are riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. I wouldn't recommend this teacher to anyone mainly due to inaccessibility & grading.

Proffesor Lay is an amazing artist and very knowledge. She does tend to go off on tangents and changes due dates. If you need help or clarification with a project she is more than willing to help, both in and out of class. If you are not an art major, I would suggest not taking this class, it is not an easy A. She grades fairly, but tough.

I really like Professor Lay as a person, her art skill is pretty incredible and I believe she has a lot of wisdom and experience to share with her students. But she's extremely disorganized, extremely unclear with what she expects, and she changes projects and due dates so often that you lose track of what you're doing. Would not recommend.

I'm in the online class this semester, and honestly, there is no class. She never checks in, has not graded anything since week 2 (and we're going into week 8 now), and seems really irresponsible. Other students are starting to notice that she does not care enough to be present in the course as well, but it does not seem likely this will change.

I will never take this professor again. She is very disorganized and not articulate in her instructions. Even as an art major with experience, it was hard for me to succeed solely based on how unclear the projects were. I would definitely take another teacher.

Took an online class, because I was interested in art. Was very disorganized. Professor did not communicate when she was having issues with the on line system. Professor could not figure out how to access our homework online, so we were disciplined for not participating. Found the Professor to be unfair.

Overall professor is very nice and helpful. However, there is a big NO. She is quite unorganized. You never know what to expect. She can change the syllabus at any time. She doesn't give a clear picture of lectures, tests, etc in her syllabus. Moreover, she offered an extra credit for voting. Clear discrimination of those who are non-citizens.

I like any kind of art, but with her, it's bad news. I took the class on winter and I struggled more in this class than in my science class. She's a really tough grader and in order to pass with an A, you really need to work extra harder than usual.

She gives you lots of extra credit, DO IT! It's easy and they're free points. Going to class is crucial! All quizzes and tests are based off of lectures so be prepared to take a lot of notes. The textbook is not necessary, it will hardly be used. She is not a horrible teacher, but given the chance to choose a different teacher, I would.

Took this oil painting class to learn some painting skills to add to my artistic toolbox. Over the semester we had to do 4 paintings. Amy is a wonderful teacher and is an artist, therefore she is passionate about teaching art to her students. You won't regret taking this class, just do the work and you'll pass.

Easy as long as you do all the assignments. She's really understanding and is willing to work with you. She's tries to push her students to doing better and to not half fast things. She gives you a pretty decent amount of time to complete projects but be prepared to spend lots of time outside of class completing them.

A VERY HARD CLASS BUT YOU CAN GET THAT A!! It was a very hard class, lots of studying and getting help from classmates. Her quizzes where mostly from her lectures, not so much the book! A LOT OF NOTE TAKIN BE READY! I passed with an A and have a VERY HIGH RESPECT for Amy as a teacher, I'd take another class of her anytime.
