Comment:

This class is hard if you don't put effort into actually learning the material. He doesn't put his lecture notes online so you HAVE to come to class or find someone else to give you the notes. I enjoyed this class and learned a lot, I hated ALEKS though. He is passionate about what he does, wants you to succeed, and will gladly help you. DO THE HW!

Comment:

This class wasn't impossible to pass. He showed us resources to help us and our homework wasn't too much if you were willing to put effort into it. ATTENDANCE MATTERS EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT MANDATORY. I ensured I went to every class and it made the class easier for me to pass.

Comment:

A very intelligent professor, a math genius. Unfortunately, his passion for math exceeds his compassion for those who are less mathematically inclined. If you are good at Math then you will probably enjoy the class. My low rating was my own personal experience. I would not have given a rating at all if that were an option. Good man though!

Comment:

Too much homework, takes to many points off tests even if on the right track. Explains lectures too fast and simplifies in ways the students can't see. Teaches strong induction which is after regular induction. Don't take if possible.

There are pop quizzes that can hinder your grade and even though attendance isn't mandatory, the pop quizzes is what can make you fail the class. His class was rough with a lot of material per class. Even if he doesn't finish a section in class, he won't go back to it the next day it meets.

He seemed to try... but not straight foward with what was important for students to learn. Thus confused many, half of the class did not pass, he had to add point just for people not to fail instead of being by merit and understanding of material.

Hardest Class I've taken by far. The test are brutal, you will find he uses the hardest ex.He is very passionate about math and knows what he is talking about but teaches everything the hard way. He really TRIES to help. But he is one of those teachers who knows it too well to be able to teach it. If you are a math whiz you will succeed no problem.

Hardest class I have taken in college due to the heavy workload and a HORRIBLE computer program, ALEKS! HW quizzes suck, hard tests, impossible quizzes! Great teacher, passionate about math and fun spirited personality. I spent a LOT of time in the math lab getting help, passed the class with a B, make sure you do good on the final! Helped me a lot

I'm a Literature and Writing major, but this was my favorite class this semester. The professor is engaging, excited about learning, and really knows what he's talking about. I learned a lot in this class, and I recommend him if you have to take this class.

This guy is german and hard to understand but he's definitely that type of teacher that makes you feel like you should do well because he's really helpful and he looks really sweet and really happy about math. Unfortunately I'm not doing well in this class so my only advice would be to get a tutor or actually pay attention because I did neither

Best Math teacher at CSUSM. He provides all the lecture notes, homework answers, and discussion board online. Dont be afraid to ask questions, he will make it clear for you. Definitely not an easy class, but if you keep up on the homework and make sure you understand the lectures you can get an A.

This prof is very helpful. This was a hard subject but during the lab class he really helped a lot with problems that i had. the way that he grades homework was awesome. we would do it online with his help! tests were ok. I would highly recommend this professor.

This professor truly wants you to learn. He will not let you get off easy. Very helpful and highly disciplined. Class starts on time and moves with extreme efficiency. I usually don't take notes in class or do homework, but I found myself constantly scribbling and spending hours on homework, because the subject was challenging and the teacher good.

Difficult subject. He will bend over backwards to help you out in office hours and via email. He is a great professor for those who wish to learn math. Those who wish to skate by will fail horribly. One of my favorite profs. Very approachable.
