Comment:

Trudel's bland lectures do not even come close to preparing you for assignments given, completely irrelevant to lecture material. Lectures consist of reading over prewritten code. Textbook is never used in class but necessary as it is used as a resource during the midterm and final. Don't waste your time unless the course is required. Final is 60%!

This is the most boring prof ive ever had. He's actually painful to listen to. class is graded mostly on the midterm/final, assignments can be done in groups if you want. I recommend you actually do the labs/assignments yourself, because Trudel will not teach you a thing in class. The midterm was literally one question, but he marks it really hard.

Show up and pay attention, having facebook etc. open during lectures is a bad idea. Print up your assignments and code from each chapter for your mid-term and your final and the class is easy, like, really easy if you just pay attention.

Andre is an OK prof. If you just listen and ask questions you should be fine. Although you don't get THAT much use of the textbook when it comes to assigned readings and such, it definitely is a big help in completing assignments, something that Andre is not going to throw you an easy bone for.

Trudel is a pretty good teacher in the classroom but he doesnt prepare you for the exam. Had to take it twice, first semester went into the exam with an A-, came out with a D+. Next semester he made the exam worth 50-100% so I freaked out, but it was just questions from the midterm and practice questions he gave us on the last day. Open book exams.

The assignments in his classes are way easier than they should and he does not prepare students well enough for their future classes. I went into the Exam with an A and came out with a C because I did what the question asked, which was not what he wanted.

Terrible teacher--cancelled the last day of class because, "nobody ever studies until the day before the exam," extremely easy assignments versus an outrageous midterm (the mean was ~53-58/90) and according to this website this is not the first time. Avoid his COMP1113 class unless required.

This was by far the most useless class I've ever taken in computer science. Not only was the professor not able to correct my assignments in a meaningful way (providing any constructive criticism), the exam didn't make sense in relation to the text and previous course material. Absolutely worst experience I've ever had in school thus far.
