Overall I really enjoyed his class, although it was easy he is very nice and funny which keeps classes interesting. You will need to buy the online textbook which is expensive and there is homework for almost every class which can be long but it's easy. The tests are out of the book and are all easy. He also ends class early a lot which is a plus.

If you can, take Dr. Villagra. He's a great professor even with his reliance on the book (though granted this is SPA101 so there aren't too many ways to teach it). I've been taking Spanish forever now and he's definitely one of the good ones! The class was a breeze and he's very nice. A little less homework would be appreciated, however.

Very tough class, even for a native speaker. It consumed a lot of time but, it was a summer class, all of the work was consolidated into 6 weeks. The grade consisted of 4 exams, 12 vocabulary and grammar assignments, 3 papers and weekly lectures via video chat (A LOT OF WORK). However, a lot is learned and Villagra is a pleasure and works with you.

Good professor, interesting guy. Relates vocab to other similar words of roots. Gives interesting explanations on grammar such as reflexive verbs like getting your whole self up or taking your whole self out of a place. Gives 2 papers, presentation, exams from textbook. Can do better by not assigning hw w/out covering material first (he's aware)

Villagra has a really fun personality. He's funny and spunky. You'll love his class. You'll learn alot about spanish and hispanic culture that you wouldn't normally learn about in a spanish class and the tests are really easy.

Good Teacher, tries to keep the class engaged and interested.(It can be boring unless the class participates) He is from Spain, which leads to a cultural difference in addressing the class. Workbook and attendance are the two big things for him, if you come in a few minutes late, he understands, but not liked. Participate for a fun filled class!

I don't know if it's because I have a knack for languages but he is an amazing teacher! He is fair, fun, and makes the subject one you want to learn. He refers to the textbook a lot, which is a very good aspect. He makes the classroom an interesting environment to want to learn the language in. Take this class if you want a good gpa!

Villagra is an AMAZING professor. The best part is he is FREAKING HILARIOUS without trying. He is very genuine nice and understanding but DO NOT miss his class without notifying him and don't get up to go to the bathroom. He takes those kinds of things personal. Other than that I loved his class.

Prof. Villagra is a good teacher if you've never taken Spanish before, but if you have his class is going to be incredibly boring. Moves very slowly, but thats mostly due to the fact that ppl. in the class don't want to be challenged. His syllabus is very hard to understand. if you are a little late to his class, you'll miss a lot, and he never repeats what he says, unless you ask him. If you are a shy person, then this class isn't for you. He calls on everyone to answer questions. He's a nice guy overall, and his grading is pretty easy, but he's not clear at all.

As long as you do the workbook and actually study, his tests are easy. He is a very friendly person and is willing to work with you if you have a problem. Even though Spanish is not my first language, I am doing very well in his class.
