Material seems simple enough so to truly test your ability Bohonak writes very tricky exam material. So spend time understanding the question is asking via what information is provided/what the assumptions are. Does NOT post lectures online! Is much more helpful in office hours than what he seems to be in lecture. No textbook need, lecture based.

When he taught his section for the class, I began to understand it better. He is super nice guy and his lectures are easy to understand. The quizzes and the exam for his section were slightly confusing, but if you study, you will be fine. Also he is super helpful with bio advising, go talk with him and don't go to Eddie.

I agree with the last comment. genetics is a tough course no matter who you takeit with. Youneed to go to class and study from day one. But the material is presented clearly. Lots of word problems. take thepractice exams!

To clarify, the easiness rating is not for Bohonak, but rather the course. Genetics is a VERY difficult course (not just Punnet Squares) and Bohonak does his best to teach it. If you don't attend class every day you will fail, without a doubt. Bohonak is a great professor and does well at lecturing on a very difficult subject.

Very Difficult class. Make sure you go to every class and office hrs. He is very helpful in making sure you understand the material, you just have to ask. Class is split into 3 sec. and the middle sec. is the hardest. Make sure you study A LOT and take the practise exams. Good Luck b/c this class is extremely difficult.

Very cool professor. Print out the lecture notes on line, go to the review sessions, go to office hours and you will get an A. His lectures are very clear and all powerpoint, spend some time studying and you'll be fine!

This Prof. knows the material very well but do not know how to teach the students. I was lost in the class. I went to his office hours but they did not help! I really did not know what to do. Extremely hard class and the Prof. is a nice guy but he does not help you understand.Good luck if you are takign the class because you will need it.HARD Class

Dr. Bohonak ROCKS! I had him for genetics and evolutionand then I worked in his lab. I also did a 499 for him. He teaches the tough stuff very well and knows and loves his material. He will get you to understand it anyway he can, he's a patient educator.

Very funny, if you like dry sarcastic humor. He explains hard concepts well. Don't skip class and you'll probably do well. Quizzes are hard, study beforehand! The tests aren't as hard as the quizzes. Overall, very good professor, very responsive and helpful if you ask questions.

Great professor for a difficult subject. Made it interesting. Notes were outlined online which helped organize lecture notes-you know exactly what to study. Difficult exams, but not impossible if you study and go to every lecture. The book was helpful to clarify but not a necessity.
