Fun in class, but gives insane tests. He'll tell you just enough to get a C on his exams, you're on your own for anything better. He gave the hardest Final I've ever written: Deriving two huge formulas from memory, worth 1/3 of the marks on the exam. Teaches under the assumption that you are a master at any previous chemistry.

Dr. Hakin is my favourite prof., hands down. He explains concepts very clearly, and makes class fun. His exams are fair assessments of what was taught in class. Outside of class, he is very easy to approach for help. It's too bad that he won't be teaching for at least the next few years - the chemistry department's losing a great professor!

Makes the subject interesting and clears up any confussion. I found his tests very fair and Hakin very helpful. I recommend him to anyone who doesnt like Chem and also those who do as you will all love him. His accent is cool too.

He will give lots of extra help if you need it before the midterms and is easy on the eyes at 8 am in a class with lots of math that should be boring but isn't. His interactive demonstrations are really funny to watch and be in.
