Comment:
Hardest grader ever. His grading style is as follows: Take 70% and add a number between 1-10 to it. That's your grade. Barely anybody gets an A. However, the work is fairly easy and his lectures are entertaining. He's a nice guy and he's always willing to help. PARTICIPATION IS KEY. Answer a lot of questions and you'll be the 1% that gets an A.

For a person who loathes history, I can actually enjoy listening to his lectures. The course content is still boring though. He's not a hard marker but it very strict with his participation marks so if you do the readings and participate, an A is possible

I enjoyed having him as my business history prof at schulich. he is a nice guy and a good lecturer although the course itself is really boring. it is possible to get an A, just participate in class and do the work

Comment:
He teaches in Schulich School of Business at York University now. During his lectures, he paces in the front of the class. He knows what he's saying. No accent. Hesitant of giving 80%+. Participation is 15% of grade, so read and participate in discussions. He keeps track of who comes to class, which accounts for the 15% participation mark

Fair marker (though bounded by the constraints of Schulich), great lecturer (manages to share his interest in the subject, business history, with the students). Has a tendency to pace while lecturing and tells anecdotes occasionally, though they usually supplement the learning.

Course itself is really boring in my opinion. He's a funny guy and makes the class more interesting. He is very lenient with deadlines, just ask for an extension and you'll get one. He marks hard though, he doesn't really like to give A's, only about 2 people out of 40 get an A, and nobody gets an A+. Go to another prof for high marks

Great Prof. He tells the most hilarious stories when he is teaching the material which i found really helpful when I was studying because the stories helped me remember his notes. He isn't the easiest marker but I highly recommend his class

Honestly, one of the nicest professors you'll ever come across. Very helpful and a good marker. His lecture material can be dry, but he spices things up with funny rants and stories. You won't want to miss out on being taught by Andy Thomson!

I love Thomson...one of the best prof's in WLU history department. His scathing sarcastic whit makes class a joy to go to. He is open to discussion, offers his help, and is in general a really good person. He paces a lot, and sometimes looses track of what he was ranting about...but it still all makes sense. Would def take courses again.
