Dr. Wiest is such an amazing professor! I am taking him right now for my Honors College class and absolutely love going to class. He has a humorous personality and makes the subject matter so interesting. You cannot go wrong with this professor!

Makes History interesting. Rather than just spitting out facts, he tells stories to make the material much easier to remember. He really cares about his students. He gives 3 essay assignments (with one drop grade essay) and 3 tests.

Not very organized, but had a good sense of humor. He insisted on the readings, but I didn't get much out of them personally. First paper was graded very harshly, but he didn't seem to care much after that. Passionate about what he studies on his own time, but don't expect him to put too much effort into the class.

I have never had a good history teacher, and I thought history was boring. With him teaching the class, he completely changed my mind. I actually enjoyed the class and wish I would have gotten to take him for history 102.

Great lectures, super funny. Had to do 4 papers on different books so, get ready to read. Tough grader but, notices improvement and grades accordingly. Lots of information covered. Tests were purely essay and difficult

This class was VERY hard, but learned so much. Make sure your grammar is on point for the essays. Lots of people have old tests of his.. mostly sorority girls, BUT beware he changes them up (as he should you cheaters) overall, he really is great!

Best history professor to have! If you don't go to class you probably won't pass because he goes over SO MUCH during one lecture. He made learning history very enjoyable. I actually looked forward to going to his class! Highly recommend Dr. Wiest.

This is the best history teacher I've ever had, He's hilarious, cares about his students, but is still strict enough to keep you in line. He's a great guy and teacher. I'd take him for every class if I could.

He is only a tough grader if he doesn't like you. I know students who can barely form a sentence that he gave an A to. This guy hates Israel and inserts liberal nutbag political jibes in at will. He speaks in very poor English and is misogynistic. Mostly men in my class and I can see why. Steer clear if you want an education. Take LaPierre instead.

Dr. Wiest is the best professor I've ever had. He always starts off class with 3 jokes and he keeps the lectures interesting. He really cares about his students as long as they're showing up and doing the work. I highly recommend taking him!

He likes to hear himself talk. My class was spent sitting in the auditorium while listening to him blather on. No power points, no visual aide, nothing. So glad I took my other history course online. Outdated and incorrect information on some subjects. TAs grade harshly. I cannot recommend this class for someone not majoring in history.

I LOVED taking this man's class! His assignments weren't too hard and he's HILARIOUS! The jokes he tells are pretty bad but when he isn't trying to be funny he actually is! Buy The Boys of '67 it's a mandatory! He'll know if you didn't, he wrote it. Loved meeting the vets he wrote about! Good class, don't skip, notes are ESSENTIAL to passing!

Honors is more difficult. No exams, just several papers to write. Did not see the hype in his class, but he was an overall funny guy. Not a history person? Don't take his honors class. Everyone in there ends up with a B and an A if you really put in the effort.

Dr. Wiest is one of the best professors I have had during my freshman year. His jokes are hilariously inappropriate, and he is very clear on what he wants from essays and papers. If given the option, definitely take Dr. Wiest!
