A good prof, he is helpful when you ask him questions and doesn't try to trick you on tests. If you don't study, you might find the multiple choice questions hard but they are straight from the Cisco online class. Practical tests are right from his class notes. Do recommend him for Networking classes.

You need some past experience in programing in order to succeed in his class. The prof is very helpful and slows down when student are confused. Very fair marker.

Tends to read straight from power points. He has a thick accent which make it hard to understand concepts he explains. He isn't very helpful outside of class. A lot of homework and assignments which are very confusing. I wouldn't recommend him.

This is not a mandatory attendance class, but it might as well be; you simply cannot miss classes with Andy, as there is often a quiz, lab, or assignment due, and sometimes all three. Andy's help is not always clear, though his instructions always are, as they come typed. Follow his instructions, ask for help when needed, and you should be fine.

Took his Data Structure with C++ years ago. I am doing BTech at Kwantlen after SFU. Excellent instructor. Extremely helpful. His course was not for students who treated classrooms like a monthly visiting theatre. Best for vigilant and hardworking students. Period.

If you take CPSC with Andy Law, make sure you take at least three other classes because there isn't a hefty workload. Classes are supposed to be 3HRS but they and after 90 mins

Avoid this class with this instructor if you can. This course should be done online, as there is mandatory quiz, and half the lab is given in class, but it is truly painful to attend. His English is not great, and because of this his instructions are VERY unclear. A total headache of a class.

This teacher is the most knowledgeable teacher in all CISY/INFO classes. No doubt, if you study his power points, you will do well in his course. He explains things very well. If you're bored by his lectures, it's because this field is not for you. He deserves to be the head of the IT department; and in fact he is.

if you want to get a good grade out of this class then dont buy the book and just study his ppt. If you memorize that you will definitly get an A+. I guarantee it. I got an A (but i did waste some time studying the boring book).

This class isn't truly that hard but Andy makes it harder by not helping and assuming everyone already knows everything about computers. His tests are easy but the labs can be hard. Overall this is an ok class to take but you need to do all learning on your own.
