Comment:

Ms. Stemler is a great teacher, she's very helpful when you ask for it. You're expected to do the homework that is assigned to you in the syllabus, just pay attention in class and follow the syllabus and you shouldn't have any problems. Make sure you color ALL the letters/words in the coloring book assignment to get the most points.

She treats you like a preschooler, the way she talks and teaches. Grades a coloring book very tough for some reason. Very nutty, I didn't learn anything I thought was interesting. Will take attendance, twice, each day. Extremely judgemental. Will deduct points for things like a wrinkled scantron. She will kill your thirst for knowledge. Don't do it

Worst experience of my life. Sarcastic, belittles you, goes off topic often, hands out-of-date material out, is obsessed with a gorilla who can do sign language, makes you feel terrible for being human. Majority of class will drop before quarter ends. Midterms will hurt your confidence. Essay worth 20% of your grade isn't clear. She drives a prius.

The class consisted of pure lecture and reading from the text book. She lectured pretty clear but that still did not keep the material from being difficult. I did not so well on the exams, but did well on the 4 page research ppaper. She also allowed for extra credit.. In the end I was really hooked on the subject and passed the class with a B.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!! She is the worst teacher at Deanza. What teacher do you know makes you color in a coloring book. You'd think that would be fun but it totally sucks. She is really unclear, tests are hard, and YA she marks points off for going to the bathroom. I swear on my life. Take someone else no matter what. worst class ever!!

Despite the killer tests, there are enough additional points in the class that overall the grading is very fair. I enjoyed this class a lot more than I thought I would going in. Don't let the tests deter you- Prof. Stemler is great!

Teacher is a nice lady. That is all the good to say about her. She is extremely difficult to follow/SUPER HARD to take notes. She has published lecture notes,buy them because it is halfway impossible to follow without. She deliberately tries to make tests tricky and they can be very difficult. She lets class get sidetracked by random conversations.
