I hated economics but Prof Shostya made me tolerate it somehow. She is hilarious but can also scare you at times. I didn't buy the textbook; quizzes are based mainly on lecture notes so save your money. All homeworks are online and there is no midterm. The final is easier than the quizzes.

There are few profs like Shostya because she is PHENOMENAL! The lectures are amazing, it is easy to understand the material, the examples she gives are awesome! Shostya is very funny, caring, and nice. She made me fall in love with economics and I declared it as a major. You HAVE to take her, no doubts. I LOVE SHOSTYA!

Professor Shostya is amazing! One of the best professors at Pace. Her classes are hard, especially Intermediate Micro. You will have to work a lot and trust me, it is for your own good. Her tests are difficult and require preparation, and she does not curve. However, as long as you show progress throughout the course, you will not get a bad grade.

Professor, please do not generalize countries based on your limited knowledge about them. You cannot claim that China and Russia are air-polluted just based on the air quality of some cities!!! China and Russia are HUGE, and these cities do not represent them all. You are giving out misconceptions to people who have not been to C&R!!

She made the exactly same jokes and told the exactly same stories as she did in the Macro class. Ah taking her class again was really boring. Her way of teaching the micro class is disorganized. She does not allocate the class time right. Students had to go to the tutoring center to figure out what she was trying to say in the class.

She is such a good professor, and i like her so much! All the people i know agree that her class is very engaging and interesting! Her class lets me fall in love with economics! If you spend enough time in this class, it is very easy to get an A!

Shostya was an awesome professor. Not an easy class, but she makes you work hard in class and is always open to questions. She made econ really interesting. Do not slack in her class, she will notice and pick on you.

If you put in work, you will receive an A. Lectures can be somewhat confusing, which is why having a textbook is essential to the course. She never assigns readings but you should always read the chapters listed on the syllabus, especially before quizzes.

Shostya is an amazing, upbeat professor who is very passionate about economics. She has a wonderful sense of humor which keeps all of us interested in learning. Typically, I tend to fall asleep in class but in this class, I was wide awake during her entire lecture. She replies to e-mails frequently and she always pushes us to work harder.

One of the best Professors I've ever had at Pace. I hated economics before I took her, and absolutely loved her class. She explains the material so clearly. The people who complain about her are the ones who do not do any work. Economics is a hard subject, and she is not an easy professor. Work hard and you'll be rewarded.

One of the worst teachers i have ever had in my life. She tells us the book is not needed while every quiz contains questions taken straight from the book, and never even talked about in class. She loves talking about China. So half the class is encouraging kids to go to china and the other half is uhhhh i don't know. doesn't know anybodys name

Shostya is one of those professors that loves what she does, tests are tough and she does not curve, lectures are boring & confusing. Textbook was mandatory if you wanted to pass and complete the homework assignments. Would I take her class again, absolutely not. The best decision i ever made in college was taking another economics professor.

Shostya is a good professor to take if you are actually interested and understand Econ. But if you aren't, she is very intimidating and hard to follow. She manages to pick on every student in a lecture hall of 100 people.

Great understandable lectures that are both entertaining and educational. Understanding the syllabus and her grading is a must to getting a good grade. The lectures are the key to passing the tests. Studying lecture helps A LOT, the book is for homework which is supplemental because thats part of your grade too but not critical to passing tests.
