In this class you have an essay or journal due every week minimum 500 words. You also have to do 3, 1000 word essay. There are many extra credit opportunites threw out the course worth 5 points each and one 50 point bonus journal at the closing end of the semester. Lots of work but doable.

Essay's, which she calls journals are due every Mon. Take her feedback, start early, & READ THE HANDBOOK(!!) & you'll be fine. No real discussions, but plenty of extra credit given through discussions and syllabus. Don't take her for granted, she's always there with quick feedback. I enjoy writing, so I enjoyed the class. Would take again :)

Great online teacher! Quick response to questions. Grades SUPER quick and gives good feedback. Yea it seemed hard at first but just follow the essay structure she's looking for and you will do fine! Not a class to procrastinate in, start your assignments early! Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Overall kind of tough but enjoyed the class.

Definitely one of the toughest English classes I've ever taken. She assigns one journal, basically essays, every week. Too much work and too much information it gets kind of confusing. I do not recommend if you have other priorities/classes.

You definitely need handbook to pass. Every week there is a essay to do. They aren't too hard but do take up a lot of time. The class is critical thinking and writing and she wants a lot out of you but will help you along the way. Her feedback is great. Extra credit is given in the non discussion area. There are no real discussions.

Specific feedbackdirection are vital to improving your thinkingwriting skills, and she provides those in spades. She responds quickly to messages and works to make sure a student is reaching hisher full potential. The class involves a lot of writing, but that is how you will become a better writer. Being smart is useless if you can't express it.

Though this teacher is extremely helpful and posts grades in a timely manner, I DO NOT recommend this class. If you're a full time student with outside priorities, the requirements for this class will do nothing but overwhelm you. "Journals" (basically essays) are due every week, and she has no consideration toward the amount of workload she gives.

She was really helpful and quick on giving feedback to our discussions and essays. I had trouble doing the online discussions on time and she does not allow late work. Because I was lazy, my grade was lowered, but I felt like I really learned a lot in her class. One book is free and the other book is cheap, both are mandatory in order to do hw.

This class and professor were extremely helpful in improving my writing. It also took me more time than any other class I've had, but the results were worth my time. Cheap book, interesting readings, and good and fast feedback. Highly recommended if your future includes writing, you want to learn, and you have have the time for this class.

Stay away from her On-line course! Way to much work and reading for a 3 unit course. She mentions in her syllabus how much she doesn't like online learning, then why the heck is she teaching it!

I TOOK HER ENG. 1D CLASS IN FALL OF 2012. SHE IS AN AWESOME ENGLISH TEACHER. SHE CARES ABOUT WHAT SHE IS TEACHING US, AND ITS ALL ABOUT REAL WORLD STUFF. THERE ARE 7 JOURNALS, 3 PAPERS, MANY LITTLE PRESENTATIONS (THE ONLY ONE THING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THE CLASS) AND 1 BONUS JOURNAL. I RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS!

Took this class online. She gives you two weeks to get everything turn in. There you must read, write a journal, and do a two part discussion. There are only three 1,500 words essay. The things you write about are real world observation that relates back to the readings. Sorry wait, journals are due within week 1. Also buy your books ASAP!

Great teacher! I took her class in the Fall of 2011. 8-500 word journals and 3-1000 word essays which are fairly easy if you keep up with your reading. Overall, I would highly recommend this instructor!

This is a great class with an awesome teacher! Before you sign up for this class, make sure you have enough time to put into it. Due to issues in my life I should have dropped it, but I truly enjoyed what I learned. This teacher is so helpful and supportive.
