Prof said 1st day that you could take this class with ZERO prior knowledge. Not true. The textbook was unintelligible jargon that I had to read with Google open to check every 3rd word. She promised that tests would all be based on real world examples and not theory-based. The test was 100% theory. She lectures ahead of the assigned readings.

Dr. Wilks knows a great amount about Philosophy. However, she did not set up a course that was conducive of actually learning it. She gave us a "history of philosophy". I found it fairly interesting, but I found it totally irrelevant to real world application. We spent no time creating our own arguments, but rather learning those of others. 0/10

Dr. Wilks is super passionate about Philosophy. She is also incredibly intelligent and pulls knowledge from many other faculties. She is very stuck in her views though, so if you differ in opinions you might be in for a rough semester. And she only grades two midterms and a final exam, so if you bomb one, you might bomb the entire class.

Anna Wilks is a women who definitely knows her stuff but my god is she ever a hard marker. If you dont say exactly what she wants to hear you will lose marks. I loved how into her lectures she got but she often got carried away and went on too many tangents. Learned about some interesting things but the other half meant nothing to me.

Good prof and a kind person with a real interest and knowledge of the material. She's very open to help students during office hours and makes an effort to explain the readings - which can be a bit dry & confusing - in a way that makes sense. Exam was difficult.

After more than three classes with Anna Wilks I can confidently say she's great. I really didn't like her at first, but she is a great prof who was always there for my questions and wanted to help everyone learn. Tests were lengthly, but appropriate for the course content. If you don't like Philosophy, you won't like her courses.

I've taken many classes of Anna Wilk's. She's an absolute sweetheart and total genius when it comes to Philosophy. Her higher level courses are very different from her introductory courses, though, which are easy A's. I think research jobs might suit her better than teaching but she's a good professor.

Anna is an amazing Prof! She is incredibly passionate about what she teaches and you can see that she lives and breathes philosophy. It is possible to do well in her classes, but be prepared for an absolutely brutal final exam! On the upside, she gives really detailed feedback on your test answers and papers which make it easier to up your mark

Anna is overall a nice woman but her lectures are quite dull which doesn't pair well with their usually early time slots. I also find her explanations are not the clearest and she covers a lot of material in a very short time. There is a lot of reading to do, even for a phil class and she is a hard marker who asks a lot of her students on tests.

Lectures are pretty dull but you learn a lot not on the slides. Midterms are ok, all questions given beforehand, but the final will murder you. Multiple 10 paragraph essays will give you carpal tunnel. Brought my mark way down.

Great teacher-loves what she teaches & it really shows. If u go to class u wont find it difficult at all because everything is explained extremely well. Most ppl who don't like her find philo to be completely whack, so their advice doesn't seem2count4much
