Her lectures are extremely boring and lack clarity. There is a lot of content in this course and her lectures do not cover anything in detail. She discusses several journal articles that are besides the point and are never tested. Her exams focus on details that were emphasized in text but not covered in lecture. Overall, poor teaching style...

She is a very nice and helpful, but it was her first time teaching this course so lectures weren't very clean and were boring. Tests mainly from the textbook, but i recommend going to class because she uses examples not from the text that are on exams.

she mumbles and speaks slow but fast at the same time. i don't even get it but somehow it happens. class was really boring but identical to textbook. she also reads studies in class that are really hard to pay attention too

Very disappointed in her class. She is very unenthusiastc when lecturing. I would not recomend her as a professor. She did not teach half the material in the text book, yet her exams are very much tested based on text book. Her power points did not match the text book which made it difficult to study. I got an A, due to my hard work not hers

Old school prof! Rigourous, expects a high level of scholarship, and loves kitten memes :) Hard, but I learned a lot in her class and enjoyed it. Hint: Study from the text not her notes which suck(I got the best grade in the class) Go to her office hours and ask questions- she loves psych and really appreciates it when students show interest.

I found her classes and lectures to be extremely unhelpful, uninteractive and boring. She is very thorough and uses power points. She is very approachable, considerate and quick to help upon being asked, but just seems to lack teaching ability. Her exams are difficult and over all I haven't met a fellow student that actually likes her as teacher.

Dr. Barnfield knows her stuff and is a very nice, professional woman. I found her classes to be interesting and would take another one again. People who got 60s on her midterm exam just didn't study enough, or didn't study right. It is not hard to get over an 80 in this class if you put in the effort.

I found the lectures to be boring, but she loves what she is teaching, and is very helpful. She's professional. Know the text and you are fine. Also, go to class so you get the handouts (they aren't long) and read those, too. Just do the work and you'll be fine. For a half credit course she does have a lot of assignments though. Good luck!

Extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. Gave very detailed notes and was excellent at describing more difficult concepts. I took two of her classes and had a great experience each time.

The class average is about 55-63 (depending on what happened in the final), whereas the other Psych 20 classes at Brescia have averages +70%. First hint you don't want this prof. The final exam was 100 m/c questions, and 2 essays; the other classes had 50 (much easier) m/c questions. She's really boring as a prof. Has good intentions, but she sux.
