Being a regular visitor to this site, it is interesting to me how often the most brilliant professors, those that challenge and stretch their students, receive the low marks and negative comments. In my opinion, those aforementioned marks/comments speak more to the ignorance and immaturity of the student than the weakness of the professor.

Guy knows so much about so many things. He is a great man, easy to talk to and very helpful, just ask! He will give you all the heklp you need to succeed if you just apporach him ahead of time. He also is so helpful when you ask him about other classes too. Take a class, you won't be dissapointed!

Brilliant mind and a passionate lecturer. This man is a treasure. It is unfortunate that young, impatient students occasionally dismiss Professor Metraux. If I were to signal one fault of the great Professor, it would be that he often cares more than the students do about their own education.

I found Metraux to be full of joy and enthusiasm... a friend of mine found him dull and irritating. He's enthusiastic about the SUBJECT MATTER... if you don't give a damn about grecian urns, don't take his class!
