Comment:

She tough, and maybe a little scary at first. Overall she have the material ready for you to be successful. I learned a lot and this class made it possible for me to be able to pay attention the detail in math, and if you have trouble with story problems this class is great for you. She'll break it down and drop it hot! Awesome instructor!!

Comment:

Anne Hafer is a VERY knowledgeable teacher and overall explains topics very well. I have taken several other math courses at various colleges and she is BY FAR the most in depth lecturer I have had. Tests are a HUGE majority of the grade. VERY picky about format. Not much extra credit so don't depend on it. Overall, shes a great math instructor!

Honestly, she knows her stuff. However, in lecture, you are expected to only listen. Questions felt like stupid questions because it seemed as though she expected you to know her level of math, but she was better one on one. Stay on top of exams because they are 80% of your grade.

She's such a tough grader. But for me, the worse thing to do is ridicule a student for not remembering certain steps of how to solve a problem. Personally, of my experience I WILL not take her again. I need a professor who supports and helps me through the formula. I prefer constructive feedback, than a shoot down comment.

Hafer can come across as mean at first, but she's more of a straight-shooter. Kind of annoying voice, but fair grader. Many things go into the gradebook, so if you have to stay on top of your game the whole quarter. If you work hard, you're probably looking at an A- or B+ for your final grade.

Anne Hafer is the best thing that has happend to my math. That said, if only go with her if you want to work hard for a rewarding results. She is not easy, but she is fair. She available to support students during her office hours, and provides with lots of resources.

Prof. Hafer has high expectations for her students, but she has those same standards for herself. She is a tough grader, but also very accessible and ready to assist students outside of class. She's tough on absences, but if you work hard in her class is willing to negotiate. She explains math concepts clearly and concisely, and grades in 1 week.

I really liked her lectures, she is very straight forward and tries her best to make sure that everyone understands the material so don't be afraid to ask her questions! Her tests are very straight-forward and she provides a lot of resources to make sure that we are successful in her class. She is the most caring teacher I have had thus far, 10/10!

At first she seems really cold and hard to approach, but she is nice. I had an issue with MML and she was helpful with that. But asking for help in class she treats you like you're stupid. And if you take the class she says the textbook is required but it's not. All HW is given to us online & through canvas so save your money!!!

I was very nervous to take this class at first due to all the mixed reviews. Although this teacher comes off as harsh or nitpicky at first, she's very sweet and only wants you to do well. She openly welcomes people to come to her office hours if they aren't getting something and she's very easy to talk to. As long as you actually try you'll do fine

Lectures were decent but often consisted of her talking to the screen. Questions were answered shortly, sometimes seemed belittling when doing so. Main issue is she is a very tough grader and knows how she wants answers done. Even if you get it correctly it'll be marked wrong if it is not done her way. Tests are 80% of your grade!

I enjoyed her class. I am happy with the experience of learning under her regardless. Definitely don't expect an easy grade. Especially in Math 220. This subject was her bread and butter. It was what got her into switching to a math major and she expects students to understand the concepts she's teaching and not just do computations.

I loved Hafer's teaching style. All her lectures are on Canvas so if you miss a day or don't completely understand something, I always turned to that. She grades difficultly, as does any good math teacher, but doesn't make the work extremely difficult or impossible to do. I would take one of her classes again in a heartbeat.

Worst teacher ever!! More than half the class dropped right after the first exam. You need to be able to write notes and listen to her explain at the same time. The book even does a better job explaining concepts than her. She speak to the computer monitor and not to the students and she speak fast then expect you to absorb everything she said. GL!

-This is the hardest teacher I have ever had. She will grade you based on her level of knowledge. -She expects you to know math to the highest extent (proof in paragraphs required). Expect to study! -She doesn't speak to the class! (its like shes talking to someone else) making it impossible to follow along with her! -5 minutes latelose points!

She was very helpful. I started out at the lowest possible math class, and worked through nearly 3 math classes in one quarter. Any questions I had (which was A LOT) She was always there to assist, and if I didn't understand it the way she explained the first time, she would try explaining it an other way. Class was easy. I highly recommend her :)

At first I thought she was cold, but she warms up pretty quick. She does not like tardiness or absences, and won't care if you get behind due to that. She is available during office hours.Questions during class are answered briefly, but that is so the rest of the class doesn't lose valuable lecture time. There are resources outside of class.

If you need a little help understanding concepts STAY AWAY! I don't think this woman understands the word help...and OCD...so many things that don't matter that she takes points away for, because they don't look how she likes them to...seriously, and computer homework, and written homework, and worksheets...awful awful awful instructor.
