Comment:

Professor Young is a good professor, she gives out extra credit by going to more concerts on campus. However, you have to study hard for the quizzes, midterm, and final. The instructions are quite clear so just study and go to tutoring and you will be fine.

Comment:

I took this class online, and it was not too bad. You have to study hard for your quizzes and do your assignments as well. In addition to the writing assignments, you have to see a concert and write 2-3 essay about it and turn it into the music department at the performing arts campus. You have a total of 80 questions within an hour for your exams.

OMG This is one of the best professors I have ever take, she is so kind. Whenever I had problems or would be late on quizzes, she would let me retake them and she curved my grade drastically. Really would recommend her. Regarding class, be ready to spent at least an hour a day for reading and quizzes and plan ahead for written assignments

This class was just okay. Never really interacted with her much since it was an online class but the few times I needed help, she was there. There were a LOT of quizzes. It's not a hard class but I found it quite boring even though I like music, but that's just me. There are a few written assignments.

She is great! Took her for an "accelerated" 3 hour friday only class and had a great time. I have had a very minimal exposure to music notation before but she made it fun and easy. Tests were very straight forward and followed the exercises in the book. She is kind and will always help you. Many said she reminded them of their grandma in a good way

This online class is kind of hard. Theres a lot of studying to it, and a lot of quizzes. However Ms.Young is a great instructor, very kind, and very sweet. If you are taking this online class I recommend you take it with her. Very understanding, and will help if you ask! Enroll, and study study study ! Thank you Ms.Young. I managed a C.

First of all this Music 32 appriciation class is harder than a political science class which is ridiculous, but that aside professor Young is great, very understanding and has a passion for what she does. I really liked her. So if your taking this class because you really like it or want to take it, take it with Ms.Young. great online instructor!

I had no knowledge of music coming into this class. I only took it because of the IGETC. I am a math major. I was having so much trouble and i told her. She gave me extra homework that was extra credit. Not only did it help me understand it more but i passed. She was awesome. Take if you are a music major.

I took her Music 32 class online and it was a very easy A. All you have to do is read the section and take the quiz. Make sure to get everything in on time. She also answers emails quickly. There are 5 assignments which she grades very easily. Overall easy class and great GPA booster.

Took her online class somewhat unwillingly, afraid I wouldn't manage to keep up.. which I didn't at first. But prof. Young was very understanding (since I had done well in what I had managed to turn in on time) and gave more time for work I had missed. 2 exams, 1 concert report, and a quiz/class. Easy class, great prof, highly recommend!!!

Very helpful and knowledgeable teacher! If you show a genuine interest and desire, she will do everything to help you. This is NOT an easy online class--especially for beginners to the technical and theory side of music! However, the class is extremely informative and you will NEVER view/hear music the same again! And this is very good!

I really understand "classical" music now. What it's about, different time periods, Symphony orchestra, the instruments in it, and I feel more cultured. Interesting and very easy. You do have to read, but it's enjoyable. By the way im a Business major. 5 assignments (easy)including a concert report. (interesting)

really nice woman, loves what she does, knows what she is talking about but sometimes she expects a little too much. The class is fairly intense for those who have no music background, but she will help you out. Occasionally she covers the material a little too quickly but ask her to explain and you'll be ok.

what the hell is that guy talking down there? she was kindest person i ever met filled with passion. she's in her 60~70ish who still rides a bike for hiking..lol / class was straight forward, the tests are easy except that don't fool around b/c u scored high in first test. go take her and enjoy your 3 hrs on friday which was so fun..=)
