Comment:
Professor Stone required attendance at lectures (with a sign-in sheet), although the exams were almost 100% related to outside-class readings. Lectures were very in depth for an intro course, focusing on specific examples rather than teaching theory. Grading criteria for the essay-heavy exams was extremely unclear and subjective, and graded by TAs.

I loved Professor Stone- he was always available for extra help and really knew what he was talking about. If you put in the work you will do well.

He is very smart and a brilliant and outstanding researcher. His class is very demanding. There is too much (and difficult) reading assignment and he asks you to do some unusual tasks (such as debate in class). He is also a tough grader and it is very hard to get an A.

He is incredibly interesting, I don't understand why everyone gave him such a poor rating. He has some great stories and is very enthusiastic about the subject!!!

Funny in a professory kind of way- dry wit. Does an admirable job with ver complicated, difficult material, but could possibly be a little clearer in organizing the materials and linking everything together coherently.

He doesn't make them a prereq, but a good backround in macroeconomics and game theory would REALLY help. He's a tough grader and some people say he's arrogant- he's a friendly guy but needs to explain things better, and not assume undergrads know grad stuff.

That class is too early...otherwise he is good. Game theory gets on your nerves after a while though. He needs to make more jokes about Bush.
