Love, love, love. Yes, her grading scheme + lecturing can be erratic, but she cares a LOT. Show up, do the readings, listen. As long as you do that, she will go beyond for you. Often times spent an hour in her office after formal questions were through just to chat and laugh! Revived my love of Shakespeare. 6 plays, reading quizzes, and 2 essays!

Staveley is the sweetest prof at MUN. She just wants her students to succeed. She provides a lot of handouts that are very helpful, and encourages students to watch the film versions of the play to better understand them. She's very accessible during office hours, and is very understanding. Her grading can be a bit erratic, but fair all the same.

Dr. Staveley is such a sweet lady! I missed an essay that was due and she asked me what date would be best to come write with her. Very easy grader, I've written essays last minute and received marks way higher than I would have expected. Very caring and truly just wants you to succeed & basically gives you marks.

Dr Staveley is such a funny, sweet lady! She is a tough grader but is very open to providing feedback and loves office visits. I mentioned that I was a bad exam-taker and she immediately offered to give me more time to take them. Love her as a person, tonnes of useful handouts, and she has such an admirable passion for Shakespeare too.

Sweetest lady ever! Had her for 3201 and I wish I could take more classes with her! She gives lots of handouts (which are very helpful) and is very helpful/understanding if you go see her during office hours. She uses the DVD versions of the plays to help enhance understanding (which I enjoyed) and ultimately just wants students to succeed!

Cutest little woman ever. So helpful if you go to her office hours and SO sweet! Not an easy marker, tends to go off on tangents when lecturing, shows videos of the plays rather than reading them (which for me was not helpful), and attendance is mandatory for the amount of hand outs she gives out (which are helpful). Overall, great prof though!

Dr.Staveley is fantastic! She is so sweet and lively. She gives LOTS of handouts and resources and is very clear with her expectations for her students. I normally hate shakespeare but she makes it fun with watching the plays and her english accent makes it more enjoyable.

Surprised with how much I enjoyed this class. I would've preferred if she did not prepare our notes for us and hand them out on loose sheets each class, but that is just my preference. Overall she is super open, helpful, and understanding. Her sense of humor really makes class fun

Terrible prof. She never shuts up. I have tried to do a presentation three days in a row and was not able to due to her talking longer than the person that is giving the presentation. In a one hour class we only got through two presentations that were supposed to be 10 mins each! Absolutely disgusted with this prof

She loved the subject matter, and made it enjoyable. She is very helpful, but not a doormat. She loved to help students who came to her office. She expects you to be an adult, and do what would be expected, and treat her with respect. Only problem is she tends to talk a lot, so classroom discussion is nearly non-existent.

I don't think I've ever met a prof who has cared more about her subject and students. Very fair. Will push you to produce best work. Went to Harlow with her. Worked for her as well; she is the reason I have an english degree. Also cared enough to advise me post-graduation. Probably the best prof I've ever had.

Anne was kind, fair and had sincere concern for her students, and her lectures were informative and enlightening. She certainly knows how to challenge students! Though her course design was questionable - too much of the mark was based on in-class work, and her quizzes were difficult even if you read the texts several times - I would recommend her.

She's a great prof, and is truly interested in how her students are doing in the course. Class attendance isn't mandatory, but she loves for everyone to show up and participate in discussions. She gave small quizzes on the novels that were very easy, if you read the novels. If you do the small amount of work she asks of you then you'll do well.

Dr. S is an excellent prof. Knows her stuff, has passion and translates that into excellent teaching. She is tough but invariably fair. You will have to work for your grade in her classes. But she is amazing!
