He literally talks about irrelevant topics a majority of the class. The tests are all fill in the blank! He said with multiple choice tests we have some chance of getting it right by accident and he didnt like that. I would NOT recommend this professor

only under dire circumstances should you take Bopp for this class. I really don't mind working hard for a good grade - I do mind working hard for nothing. He makes this class MUCH harder than it needs to be. Fill in the blank tests, lectures have NO structure, over all a miserable class.

Wow. Doesn't discuss anything related to the tests (except graphs). Excepts everyone to understand economics of health care systems... but we are in the class to learn the general info of just the health care. Didnt even discuss the new bill. Not suggested

Attend class, read the book, take thorough notes and maybe your dreams will come true. For those easily offended, Dr. Bopp will help you develop real-world skills at channeling commentary. Slackers Beware!

worst professor I've had at JMU. He is rude and interrupts you when you ask a question. He also tells you he won't influence your opinion, but then if it is different from his he legitimately says you're wrong and your idea is dumb. Worst of all his ignorant and contradicts himself all the time. Don't take him if you can possibly avoid it

makes the class way too hard. expects you to know every detail from both books, the articles, and the lectures, but only tests on a few things. sometimes it's stupid stuff, like the names/cities of the ppl in the stories. memorize every acronym!!! take him for stats, not u.s. healthcare systems.

smart guy and good teacher-- definitely knows his stats. he's straightforward (even though he may seem scrambled at times). only needed the book for the first unit.. after that, just studied the examples from class--i would redo them before exams and get an A (since test probs were almost identical). but you need to memorize every single formula.

Tests are somewhat difficult because he doesn't give you much direction as to what to study. Test scores were pretty low for this class, but he curves like crazy...A 35% was a C for one of the tests. However, I learned a lot from him and would recommend this class.

It's a tough subject, but he does a pretty good job. He teaches through example and the test questions are very similar to the examples he uses in class. Attendance wasn't mandatory but I think that was just because of the swine flu. If attendance would help you, he counted it for 10%.

This class isn't neccesarily a cake walk, but you're given all the tools in order to do well. The book isn't absolutely necessary, questions in the book are different from the way he phrases questions on tests. He does tend to ramble and get off subject sometimes but it kept me entertained.

I like the guy, but his teaching skills aren't that great. He has four tests and a final, each are only about 10 questions that cover all major topics. They are very hard to study for because there is so much material. Memorizing the correct answers from the previous test really helps for preparing for the the next one because he re-uses questions

Amazing how hard he was when he didn't have to be. He even makes you use his own set of confusing charts. I had a statistics major who said the same thing. His tests are HARD. Study, study, study. If you nail the final though, it will really help thanks to his weird grading system.

Terrible teacher. Turns this class into an incredibly difficult class when it shouldn't be. Talks about sports too much. Also makes the class more about economics and doesn't teach out of the book. The tests are 20 short answer questions for 3 chapters in the book, a graph, and a reading. It's ridiculous.

I agree with every horrible comment on here. The department needs another teacher who knows how to effectively teach a class. All I got was mumbo jumbo.

He is extremely smart, so much so that it can be difficult to understand at times and his tests aren't a piece of cake (all short answer). But he is fair and if you study you'll do fine. Really hated this class at the start of the semester but, ended up becoming my favorite.

Overall he is a great teacher.Yes, the class is tricky but its college. I had 60's on all 4 tests but I didn't try too hard. I studied hard for the final, got an A thus I earned an A-.(he has an awesome grading policy)He is a funny guy too, I didn't enjoy the class, but Dr. Bopp made it interesting.

Dr. Bopp is the man. It's not an easy A where you can just read PP like most other HTH teachers; you actually learn stats. If you just want an easy A you shouldn't be in college. He tests EXACTLY on what he teaches, but you do need to know what he teaches in class (need the book 1st test and that's it) He answers all questions in class & in office.
