I took this class as a science breadth, as I am an arts student, and I'd recommend it to anyone needing a sci-B! Three exams and one quiz; multiple choice and one-word short answers. The material was interesting to me, and I think Munro does a good job of teaching it! Sometimes he goes a little fast. The readings are quite tedious but used in tests

He does not upload his lecture notes on canvas. Notes on Canvas are here and there, so it is impossible to be on the same page with him. Exams are super tough. I regret taking this course with him

He is good at explaining things and easy to understand. But my only problem is that he expects us to read articles before we have gone over the info in class and be ready to be tested on it in the next exam. Also, he doesn't post lecture slides. As other reviews has said, the exams are very specific and it's dumb. -_-

Murray is an amazing guy. He's super interested in what he's teaching and that helps a LOT in lectures. He uses videos, recordings, and other materials to give students a better understanding of the topic and keep us interested. He also always makes time for questions. The exams are not EASY but if you have done the readings you will be okay. 3

He's a fantastic professor with clear explanations, but the course is essentially a more in-depth LING 100 with phonetics sprinkled in at the beginning. The exams ask ridiculously specific questions from the articles, but it's not too hard to get above an A-. Probably wouldn't recommend this professor over others in the department.

Dr. Munro is a really good prof and this is a fun class. Easy for those with prior Ling experience and the articles (in lieu of textbook) are really interesting. Everyone is bound to find one topic they enjoy in this class and Munro is engaging and great to learn from. Tests are easy if you do the readings and study the handouts.

He is definitely one of the more challenging profs in the Ling department. His lectures are very interesting, but his exams are VERY DIFFICULT! They require you to memorize insignificant detail in the textbook. If you are looking for a GPA booster, avoid his class.

Very Good prof, no need to buy the textbooks, he'll post notes online, spend 1hr going over concept and then 3 hr practicing before each midter/the final, then you'll get at least B, i got A-, hope you can get higher and it's possible because i didn't spend much efforts for the final.

WORST prof ever! boriest lectures and make sure you bring ur pillow to your class, cus you'll fall asleep for sure. EXAMS WERE EXTREMELY HARD. Was sick for a midterm and didnt allow me to make up the midterm or move the weight to final exam even though I got an doctor's note. I guess its wrong to be sick like a dog and still have to crawl to class
