I am becoming a clinical psychologist, and Dr. Catalano was my introductory psychology and personality psychology professor, and I would not change anything for that if it would've changed where I am now! He holds a high standard, he expects self-motivation, and in hidden moments, you will see he cares deeply. If passionate about psych: yes!

SAVE YOURSELF. Will not teach you anything, but instead read off of power points and just expect you to read, and regurgitate the textbook for his JOKE of multiple choice exams. Made me question my own major. Doesn't even cover all material but will still test you on all with little to no review sheets. Looks at you like you're crazy when you speak

Definitely a self teaching class. Class lectures are not very informative, and we only went over a theory after we already had a test on it. Compulsion with seating arrangements overshadows the class, if someone was out of place or signed attendance in the wrong spot, he would spend up to 12 the time addressing the situation. Avoid if you can.

The textbook is a must because you will be teaching yourself in this class. He barely covers any of the material in class but still expects you to know all of it for the test. He also spends the first few days wasting time on creating a seating chart.

ok seriously i dont know why everyone complains, if you study from the textbook his tests are easy. he curves by alot, u only need a 76 for an A. And he never gives assignments. His class is pretty boring, and he is very annoying with attendance but apart from that EASY if you TRY!!

Catalano has to be the worst professor I've ever met. He relies mainly on the textbook, and don't focus on subject matter. He gives a curve to make himself look better, yet the curve doesn't do anything. He's extremely anal on attendance. Don't take him. Avoid, avoid, avoid. He will destroy your GPA. I promise you that.

You teach yourself from the textbook,he doesnt teach you anything.If you read its not that bad, because there really is no other work besdies that. Only allows 3 days absent, but you never wanna actually go to class, cause his class is so boring and unnecessary, since the exam is based on the text anyway. He's not helpful in class; never gets through all of the theorists. There about 20 and he goes over maybe 6.His first test is the worst cus' his questions are not always straight forward.Tests come straight from the book.Gives a major curve (40=A) but tests are hard.As long as you read the book and know it inside and out you'll be fine.

Dr. Cats is very bright and I got an A from him. He is super anal but if you listen close and follow directions, your fine. Tests were hard, 50Q MC and the final was 100Q. He gives a big curve and I suggest you read the text a lot. You will fail if you don't. It's interesting but his lectures don't really explain the theories. Ask him for help.

If your smart, you won't take his class. He is a horrible teacher. I was in his class for like half a semester...I had to withdraw because it sucked so badly. Alright so this class was almost the death of me this past semester. The professor spends the majority of the time creating excessive examples to explain concepts and then wonders why he doesn't finish all the material. Were tested on 5 theorists before we covered 1. If you take this class you better be good at teaching yourself.
