Comment:
Terrible hand-writing. The material is actually easy, but the way he teaches makes it much harder to understand. Choose other profs for Phil 241, it's much easier to get a higher mark. Attend his lectures for notes, his test questions come from in-class examples. 3 midterms, do his practice tests, they're very similar to the real tests.

He is an unorganized slob. It is difficult to understand what he says, his writing is not legible, he always lectures past the class time, wears the same outfit everyday and spills food on assignments/midterms that are handed back. Worst prof I ever had.

Interesting lectures, and a fair marker. His lectures can be a bit confusing and take some thinking about to understand, but they're relatively comprehensible with minor effort. Gave us all the questions on the tests beforehand, witch made them really simple. He might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed the class

Speaks to a first-year philosophy class as if you're all philosophy PhD's and if you're not you will easily get lost 10minutes in the lecture, doesn't provide any real, impacting answers outside of class, speaks as if he has a dictionary shoved up his bottom, terrible first year prof, albeit a nice guy, but definitely not cut out to teach an intro

Studying philosophy is challenging, so it may not just be that Prof. Jenkins makes himself hard to understand; if you listen to the prof carefully and take good notes, study the materials, and master the concepts, he will recognize your efforts with high grades (around 90). I found him to be very helpful with questions in and out of class.

Didn't seem interested in his students' learning. Instead of asking questions, he would just stand there for an hour and 20 minutes just lecturing, and when his students did have questions, he wouldn't give a legitimate response.

He is very hard to understand sometimes, definitely a circular thinker/lecturer. You have to be a good listener and philosopher to do good in his class.

Comment:
Philosophy 140 is very hard because of the heavy language and plus Jenkins makes it even more difficult. The class is very un-engaging and Jenkins style of teaching is very difficult to grasp. He doesnt take much interest in helping his students learn, he is always late in replying on email or providing other support.

Speaks as if you're a fellow philosopher, not a student, and uses a lot of heavy language that probably only a handful of students understood. On the plus side, he looks a little bit like Stephen Fry, which I found kinda cool.

Although I have no idea what's going on in the lecture. I still got 70% average overall. he marks the mid-terms generously. Work on the study questions, then you will be fine.

Good teacher. I found that I had to fill in a lot of blanks for myself in the beginning of the course. I didn't use the textbook at all because it confused me too much. But you can definitely get by on just what he's written on the board. I really enjoyed and learned from this class.

Read the text book and you should do fine. His lectures are a bit scattered and unorganized, and his ideas are sometimes unclear, but he is a good prof, and his marking is really fair.

Not only are his lectures dull, but he's very unclear. It would help alot more if he put his notes up on PAWS as you could actually listen to what he's saying, rather than trying to summarize his confusing lectures into notes. Overall, nice guy and will boost low marks, but bad teaching.

His 140 class is very interesting. He is a really good prof, and i applaud him for not following solutions from an answer book and trying to do them himself on the board. I have yet to see him not finish a question and give a thorough explanation of how he got it. I enjoy his teaching.

His examples are terrible, he makes the tests way harder than anything he goes over in class, the texts that he uses suck, he doesn't post anything on PAWS or WEBCT, and he's boring. That said he seems like a nice guy.

He is difficult in that he expects analysis in a logic class, but he rewards in marks for attempts. He is a fair teaching because he is open to criticism and brings low marks up. A sincerely kind teacher. Make him a prof.

So what if there are a couple examples he couldn't complete? At least he does the problems interactively, instead of just copying solutions from the solution manual onto the board. And yes, one of the tests was unduly hard, but that's why he curved the mark. Very nice guy, too.

Comment:
Horrible prof, can't complete his own examples. Lowest midterm average i've ever seen. class could be so simple yet he overcomplicates everything to the point where it is undecipherable. Thought that people were just complaining becuase he spoke intelligently but I was so wrong.
