This has been the most worthless class I've ever taken in my entire history in school. Toste's "teaching" is completely random and almost completely incomprehensible. Be prepared to teach yourself what you need to know to pass the tests. I would normally suggest taking it with someone else, but as he's the only one, you're hosed. Good luck.

I will start off with something positive. He is funny and has a good personality, but that is where his good qualities stop. He honestly should not be a teacher. He does not explain things well, and does not give clarity when questions are asked. He never goes over anything in the class that resembles test questions!!! Do not take him at all costs

Dr. Toste is a very refreshing science teacher. He has a great, interesting personality, and he really makes class interesting with his random thoughts and "epiphanies." He may be too challenging to his CHM 107 sections, but after many hours of dull science lecture, I found him to be an oasis.

Interesting character, keeps the atmosphere of the classroom energetic with funny comments and sayings. Bit difficult to understand the material at times, tests are fairly simple and use the papers to speak your mind, I think he likes when students are opinionated.

Although his lectures were confusing and many times he ended up off topic, I think Dr. T is a wonderful teacher!!! The course was difficult, but if you are willing to put in the work and study hard, a good grade is possible. He is always willing to help, and he offers a ton of extra credit throughout the course which is a major grade booster.

Dr Toste is an interesting man but a horrible teacher, he states in class that he doesn't think biochemistry can be taught. His notes are illegible and the only resource you have, he will spend half of class showing comics and not actually teaching, his antics at times funny can also be degrading to students. His tests are impossible. Don't take!

Odd character. You have to write four papers which stinks, but they make the tests less important and he grades them easily. By the end of the semester half the class quit showing up and I'm sure they still did fine because all the test information is out of the book. Nice guy, just not the greatest teacher.

This class is not impossible, just very demanding. Great guy, but he is useless as a teacher. He has no notes and doesn't even lecture about chemistry for over half the class period. To be successful YOU MUST READ THE BOOK. Take your own notes out of the book and study them. This was the hardest B to attain in my entire life.

Very, very poor. One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Doesn't teach material well, basically teaches the book...even the examples are the same!! I don't doubt that he knows his chemistry, however it's the teaching it part that he seems to have some issues. If at all possible avoid him, anyone else has to be better.

I loved his class, he does sometimes get off subject but he tries to keep the class interesting. If you study and pay attention in class you should do fine!
