Great an very understanding teacher. He is very straight and take his job very seriously. Love him. He makes us feel comfortable through a learning process wich is not easy because is a second language. I will have him for Spanish 2. i wish to have more instructors like him.

He's a sweet man, extremely helpful, but not very clear. Homework is easy and you can do as many times as you want; tests are open book. A few group skits (do them- he will not let you make them up) and a few compositions in class. Mandatory class. EXTREMELY understanding. I'd recommend him.

Worst professor I've ever had. A calculator is more technology than he can deal with. How desperate are you UCF?

Do not try to reach him by email, he is impossible to get a hold of and does not really understand MySpanishLab. Technology seems to fly over his head. He can be a nice guy but he is not very clear and his problems with technology made this easy class very difficult.

HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. No one ever knew what he was talking about. Went off on tangents and never taught in class. One day we just sat & listened to spanish music on youtube. Never answered a single question I asked because I don't think he knew English well enough. Was unclear about every single assignment. One good thing: he didn't grade too hard.

Since the UCF spanish department moved to exclusivly online teacher is absolutely no help at all, has no understanding of technology and tech issues remain unresolved and end up being failing grades or 0s. Even if lectures were comprehensible they would not provide any insight to course content. Questions go unanswered leaving student with more.

I took him for both Spanish 1 & 2. Learning a launguage is never easy, but Professor Rivera tries to make it as fun and as interesting as possible. Professor Rivera is an extremely nice man who genuinely wants to see his students excel. Attend class regularly, study for quizzes & tests, complete the homework on MySpanishLab and you should be fine.

I wouldn't take his class if you don't have a basic understanding of spanish. He's really nice and the class is pretty easy, but he rambles on in spanish and is unclear when he speaks english...

He is a nice guy and willing to work with students, but his ability to teach lacks. Spanish is his native language so he is unable to teach it at a level one would grasp. I basically taught myself in this class.

Very thick accent but extremely helpful. Class was a breeze. It would be good to have some good b/g in spanish even before HIS beginner's spanish. Talks in spanish often and will make sure you do. Class was very easy for me.

i LOVE THIS TEACHER, yes he does rant on and on sometimes about things that have nothing to do with the class but he is the best spanish teacher at UCF ever. As long as you come to class and do the spanish lab homework you will get a passing grade. The only way you can fail this class is if you just don't go to it.

I love him! Learning Spanish is interesting to me so I enjoyed going to this class. He's adorable and will like you if you are a good student. Only 2 tests, occaisonal quizzes, and 2 oral presentations. If you pay attention, do your homework and go to class, you will do fine in here! I highly recommed him!!

He is an awesome teacher, you have NO idea what he is saying because he speaks some form of spanglish but he is funny and usually lets you out early. Plus, as long as you try and show an effort, speak in class, go to the board, you will pass.

You have to take your own initiative in this class. He fails to explain things prior to group projects, etc and then penalizes the student afterward for his or her faults. Go into his classes knowing that there will be a lot of confusion. He is a good person at heart, but when it comes down to doing his job, teaching, he has no clue where to begin.

If you don't understand spoken spanish clearly u should try to avoid but not totally. He really tries to be as helpful as he can but half the time you can't understand him cause he speaks in spanish and has a strong accent. If you took spanish 1 its pretty much the same stuff, just harder. Spanish 2 is no breeze STUDY

I took this prof. for Summer A, This class is ridiculously EASY. You must buy the book and quia, the quia is very simple too. He takes attendance so you shouldn't miss class too much. It's long and he does tend to drag things out, but we left class about maybe an hour to hour and a half. VERY nice man, and always happy =). I got an A, w/o trying.

He is the cutest little man you've ever seen. He's truly a NICE man. Teacher wise, he's not the best. You have to teach yourself a lot- i hate the book too. It doesn't help when you're trying to teach yourself in order to pass. The class is boring, but he's so nice and willing to help!

Prof. Rivera is a very nice guy. He will help you with anything if you just ask for it. I dreaded taking spanish but I ended up with a B+. Goes through material fast but do your quia and go to class you will get an A or B w/o trying. Best thing is he practically gives you the answers to the tests so make sure you go to review day. This guy is great

I took him for spanish II and was having a hard time... but he said that he doesn't fail anyone (unless they don't show up for class). If you had a hard time with spanish I, take him in spanish II and do yourself a favor by showing up for class. He will give you a passing grade no matter what how badly you do on your assignments.
