Tests are terrible, lectures are terrible, really nice in office hours and will try to help but does not help with studying for tests. Reads off a powerpoint made by the books publisher and draws diagrams. Tests are hard to study for and no matter how much you study will not reflect on exam. Dont know how I passed.

The reason I checked attendance as being non-mandatory is because her lectures are practically useless, just like her office hours. *reads powerpoint slide and says "do you understand this or not?" then immediately moves to the next one* She's not a very caring person at all. No semi-conductor theory either. Pick a different professor.

Reads off PowerPoint, stops class for one person talking in the back wasting class time. Does not put grades in a timely manner, switched homework away from webassign for 3 weeks after everyone paid for webassign. Tests are doable but not always relative to what is "taught" in class. Fails to check on students and take questions during lecture.

I was unaware that our class combined lab and lecture in one sitting, so we basically sat in class for about 3 hours and sometimes that was all lecture. If you can manage to pay attention in class for those long 3 hours, you can easily get an A in this class (especially since an 88 is an A). This class is a good break from the super hard sciences.

I had to take physics 3 times and she was the first teacher to actually give full and useful explanations on how to do the problems. She has homework as well as clickers and tests to help cushion your grades. The way lab worked when I took from her was different (I don't know if its her decision or not) but lab was fun! She takes time and helps!

Ok, so physics is hard. She is not the best lecturer but she makes up for it with a fair grading scale: 74 is a B. So cant complain I guess. Shes also readily available outside of class. Oh and Chegg will be your best friend for this class.

If you have taken physics in high school then this will be easy as it is basically the same thing. The class is heavy in group work. Almost everything is done in groups. If there is practice work and someone doesn't know how to do it the people next to them have to help. Not a good class for those who like to work alone.

I just finished taking her for 2053 in Summer. Very fair professor, cares a lot and encourages you to come to office hours. Does her best to teach the material. Has a little bit of an accent but understandable. Chegg is your friend for clickers / lab assignments. Exams have 5-6 homework problems, 20Q. Easy A if you are willing to put in the work.

I put mandatory for the lectures because of the iclicker questions that may or may not pop up on the days you have class. The lectures could put you to sleep, but if you read the slides on your own you'll have a better understanding. The tests are difficult, but doable. The lab helps your grade immensely. You have to put the hours in to pass.

Professor Dubey is incredible! She does everything in her power to help students and make sure they understand and enjoy physics. Her passion is very evident while she teaches and she gives a lot of easy assignments to boost your grade. (I-clicker, homework, etc.)

hard to pay attention in lecture but everything is posted online. pearson for hw. iclicker questions will boost your grade so much but you have to click in correctly for credit. about half the test material came from hw/clicker questions. you have to put in a lot of work to pass but she's willing to do whatever she can to help you do your best

Really not a bad professor, just a hard subject. Makes you buy textbook online on same website homework is done on so don't bother buying a physical copy (didn't even use online one). Majority of tests are based off homework so go over those and really understand them and you'll be fine. Rack up points w/ hw, clicker ques (participation) and lab.

I thought she did a good job of explaining the concepts on the powerpoints in class.. A lot of the examples from the power points were on the exams. Lab boosts your grade. Stoped going to class after the middle of the semester and still got an A. No need to do the book questions.

She is a nice lady, but as a professor, not the best. Class never averaged more than an F on any test, even the final. Test are 10 questions and are drawn from her powerpoints and HW so study those. You have to correctly answer clicker questions for attendance, if not, you don't get attendance even if you were there. No curves, but a 60 is a C.

Participation is mandatory, done through iclickers. ONLY does slides in the lectures and they're straight from the book. Did maybe three expirements all semester and did no practice problems all the way through. Tests were pretty hard but she does drop one out of the three in class tests.

Professor Dubay, is one of the nicest people I've ever met. She's very caring and humble. Honestly, I don't think she's a good teacher, but absolutely a very good person. If you care to learn the material don't take her, If you only care about the grades then make sure to study slides problems and WebAssign for tests.

There's a simple formula to passing the tests -- She pulls all her questions from the book. Memorize how to do the problems on her powerpoints, same with the homework, and you'll be set. She gives a quiz roughly once every week and a half but she'll usually warn you the week before. Ask her if it can be a group quiz, half the time she'll agree.

Took her for Physics 3, clearly the class is interesting but she made it uninteresting for me. This sem, we had no choice but to take it with her. If there's someone else, don't choose her. Anyway, just study her end of slide problems, hw questions from webassign and know the equations in her formula sheet. Lectures are boring but just deal w/ it.

Here's the deal. I failed all my exams and my final and I passed Physics with Dubey with C. Do your homework, do well on the clicker questions, and get A's on your labs, thats is the recipe for passing. For my class we got extra credit. She's a smart woman. Just extremely hard to understand and her test are nothing like the homework.
