Dr. MacDonald was one of the best professors I had in college. His sense of humor is a bit dry, but once you understand that, his classes are GREAT! Read the books, but focus on the study guide.

Dr McDonald is a great lecturer, he should be as he has been doing this for 50+ years. He gives quizzes every class and the quiz average equals one major grade. if you have trouble with attendance this is not the professor for you. Also, do not waste your money on the book, his lectures do not follow the book content.

Quizzes every single class period! straight from the notes, but sometimes it seems like the questions he asks aren't what he said in lecture! Tests are almost identical to his workbook he wrote. Tests are all fill in the blank. Your best bet to passing this class is going to ALL TI hours available!

Very hard class, but very good professor.Don't buy the book, but buy his study guide if you want to pass. Fill it out and study it, some of the questions on the test are the same. Very funny when he wants to be, he'll randomly throw in a curse word or a joke to keep you awake. He even made us all stand and sing the star spangled banner.

I love sitting in his class and listening to him. He enjoys teaching history and makes it very interesting to me.Quizzes everyday that are pretty easy. His test on the other hand are a bit challenging, they normally consisit of about 30 multiple chioce and about 60 fillin the blank. Everything is directly from his notes

We take quizzes everyday over the prior lecture and are usually semi-difficult. We never use the book he assigned and solely rely on his lecture, so attendance is key. His tests are extremely hard. The last test I took had about 30 multiple choice and around 80 or so fill in the blank questions.

Mcdonald is a really good teacher, he's just super hard to pay attention to. I should have failed his class but I passed because I took the time to talk to him. If he thinks you're working hard for your grade you definately won't fail. SI helps, but make sure you study his notes too, don't just go off of what they say. Overall, he's a good teacher.

in my opinion he knows his stuff but is the hardest history professor on campus . I took his class 3 times and still didnt pass. This was more my issues then his lectures. If you attend class, tape record everything, and go to si, you will pass! as for me it wasnt as easy so im goin with someone elese this semester.

McDonald is a very nice guy, if you just talk to him. He also knows alot about History. His class is hard, his lectures are fast and there are daily quizzes that you must study for in order to pass. He makes his own study guide, which you should get, test come straight from it.

The class is hard. There's quizzes everyday, but if you listen and take good notes you shouldn't have a problem passing. He gives extra credit for attending lectures from visiting professors. they're boring but go anyway, the points will you. He's a very interesting man. Ok here's the deal with McDonald. Hard Clas!! His lectures are fast and hard to understand. His tests are difficult, and his temper is terrible. However, MCdonald is one of the most interesting people SFA has to offer. I would recommend him just so you could say he taught you. Just study your notes!

Speaks very quickly, goes off on tangents about random things daily and is hard to decipher what is important and isn't, because he will test over anything that he speaks about in class. He knows his stuff VERY well, but he has the hardest tests i've ever taken. Listen, study, and study more to pass
