Armin believes the only "real" art is traditional still life painting and will put down your other class work as less than to his assignments. He needs to realize that not everyone is a skilled painter and not all painting styles are the same. If he actually showed us what he expected, then he would be an ok prof. But he doesn't...

Here the thing about Armin, he takes Art very serious and expects his students to as well, rightfully so. He gets a bad wrap for being a hardass , and at times he can be, but above all he is fair. You will get back from his classes what you put in- that is if you try and want to learn he'll be there for you 24/7. By far the best teacher I've had.

Armin is difficult in the beginning of the semester. He will come off as being unfair or too focused on perfection; however, he is a very good professor. While he does push you to work very hard, you will see a lot of growth by the end of the year.

Although he may be intimidating at first, and the coursework is a bit tedious, I've really taken something from his class. He is a great professor and if you put in the right amount of work you will see a huge improvement in your compositions! I highly recommend him to anyone willing to take his classes seriously and put in their best effort!

Armin often intimidates new students because he starts off a little stand-offish. He takes Art very seriously and expects his students to do the same. Once he gets to know you and you gain his respect, he can be very fun. Not the teacher for you if you're enrolled "just for fun." Listen carefully and work hard. He can help you a lot if you're open.

This man is not a very good teacher. I feel that they way he grades is not fair at all. For a intro to drawing class he expects you to be an amazing artists. For a person like me who hasnt drawn my whole like I am not that good of a drawer but yet I get graded like I should be much better than I am. I would not recommend taking him as a teacher

Seems unclear/inconsistent as to what he wants drawn ("Yes and no" to most of your art) and incredibly difficult to please. Doesn't show grades, plays favorites, and can be a bit of a jerk. Will make you loathe drawing objects-- Treats it more as a drafting class! I have never had to draw so many lifeless cubes. Urgh.

Okay teacher. Knows what he is talking about but would have liked more advice. Usually stood on one side of the classroom the whole time talking to his favorite students, who ironically were usually the ones who didn't even show up for critiques or have their work turned in on time. Be able to joke with him, you'll be fine.

He's a very sucessful at being an art teacher, and he seems to intimidate the students that haven't taken any serious art classes before. His advice is useful and you should pay close attention, following it will get you some nice grades. The daily drawing assignments can be a bit rough, but that's just me.

I have had this professor on numerous occasions and i have to say that he is the worst teacher i have ever had. He is ignorant and overly confident. I really wish the university could hire someone who knew a little more about what they were teaching.

Because of Armin, I no longer want to take any more drawing classes. I was excited to take this class at the beginning, but was left extremely disappointed. If you don't want to do abstract work, then good luck in this class. He also plays favorites.

Armin is awesome. He was very difficult, but that is what made my work improve so much. If it wasn't for his constant nudging, I'm not sure if I would have passed senior review. He definitely knows his stuff, and yes he is very hot!
