To sum up Kali's outlook: "All your beliefs are wrong, and I'm going to tell you why." Kali is clearly educated and knows her subject well. She is a great teacher... when she sticks to academia. However, she tends to let her personal opinions and agendas slip into her teaching, and she becomes very upset when she doesn't have a captive audience.

This professor expects you to try your hardest. She can speak clearly even though she's from India so don't fret on that. The best thing about the class is the amount of interaction but being that it is a sociology class, your opinion is typically wrong. She wants an engaged class that will meet her expectations. She is a very good teacher! She doesn't take B.S. and will call you on it in front of everybody. Everything on the test is covered in class, just do the reading and take the notes. The questions on her final exam were taken directly from the 4 exams from the semester.

Great teacher! If you do the work that is asked of you and pay attention & attend the classes that you paid for, you will do just fine. She is very helpful and really enjoys what she teaches. She expects the best you can give and she has high standards as she should! HIGHLY reccomend!!!

She is very opinionated and her lectures are interesting, but she doesn't prepare you well for the tests. I would read the book at least 3 times over, word for word, and still miss questions on the test. You'd better obey her, otherwise you'll have hell to pay in the middle of class. She'll make sure the entire class knows what you did wrong.

I want to cry constantly because I find all the work she gives us unbelievable. I do not recommend this class. And I can't believe people do. Sure, the material is interesting but that's all it is. The rest of time I want to rip my eyes out.

I hated this class! After a week of it, I knew I should have dropped it. She is a cool person, and funny, but the class is hard. when over half the class failed our first exam, she blamed it on us. I dont think she does a good job teaching us the material. All she does is lecture and doesnt give us ANY MATERIAL TO WORK WITH. dont reccomend.

Be prepared to be belittled in front of the class, she is a mean nasty woman. She will pick on you if you give her the wrong answer and embarrass you! Dreaded this class every time I had it, thinking how is this teacher going to make me feel like crap today? Very intimidating and not a warm personality, unclear when asking questions. DO NOT TAKE!

People say you either love Kali or you hate her. Although I have experienced both of those at times, I without a doubt came out of the class loving her and all that she stands for! She is an amazing person, and a memorable teacher! I will take the things I learned in her class with me forever. It's a tough class, but well worth all the work!

Read the book or else you'll fail - simple as that! The tests are split about half and half with book material and lecture material. If you don't respect her, don't bother coming to class, she'll tear you to shreds. You learn a lot with this class and it's recommended, but it isn't an easy A.

Great! Your main obligation is reading the book, but it's not overwhelming. Always responded promptly and is available during office hours. Has an accent, but not hard to understand. She's opinionated, but her delivery is hilarious, not preachy. I'm intelligent, but a professional slacker, and she's the first professor who's ever motivated me.

I agree she is very eye opening and opinionated. The class is interesting and it makes you think. However, she is horrible. You write "journals" about everything, she gives barely if any instructions. Exams can be take home but she expects more out of them. They are basically writing four different 700 word essays worth 5 points a piece.

Recommended! Awesome teacher! Hilarious! She doesn't really prepare you very well for the tests but you will learn a lot. You have to read the text book word for fricking word! I got an A but it was hard. If you are a slacker do not take this class! Respect her or die! haha No homework at all, just lecture and 4 tests! take the class!

Kali is one of my favorite teachers on campus. She has a way of teaching that just makes the information stick. I use what she has taught me every day and Ive learned more about myself in this class than I have at my entire career at FSU. I recommend her to anyone who is willing to work hard, enter class with an open mind, and has a will to learn.

This is an awesome class. I would highly reccommend it for anyone going into any field of healthcare. She uses lecture to expand on topics in the book - so be sure to read before class. She is very opinionated, but she loves it if you fight back too. Awesome discussions. If you ask as a class, you can always have take home exams that are easy-peasy
